The way I see this song is about the start of a relationship. He's asking her to show him her imperfections and her faults as well as why her past relationships failed. (where the delicate stops, show me what you've lost and why you're always taking it slow. Show me what wounds you've got.)

This is one my favorite ST songs, but I hate the video. I think "show me those pretty white jaws" is him saying, "Smile for me." And "Show me where the delicate stops; Show me what you've lost, and why you're always taking it slow; Show me what wounds you've got" is him saying, "Be vulnerable with me," which ultimately translates as, "show me love."

As with many sleep token songs I think the nature of it can be read in many ways. Especially if you look at this as the other side of the coin to the song Vore. Both involve imagery of being swallowed which can be the idea of being encompassed by that person in either a loving or overpowering way which can be drawn with how it mentions being viewed through the eyes of a predator. Showing your jaws can be both smiling or baring your teeth.

This song has always felt like a back and forth thought process to me. If you listen to Highwater, the piano in this is distorted in parts in the background. There is verification that this video was for Nazareth and the studio made a mistake.

Vessel- was visited in a dream by an ancient deity" that he refers to as Sleep" due to its actual name being impossible to pronounce by modern humans. Sleep" has always existed and is responsible for giving humans dreams and nightmares. Sleep" promised Vessel- glory and magnificence if he followed him/her. Sleep" gives Vessel- dreams and visions, both beautiful and glorious as well as horrific nightmares. All of the songs deal with Vessel's- struggle with this toxic relationship with this deity" that he can only access in his dreams. The songs can also be interpreted as a toxic relationship that Vessel- had with a past partner and all of the fallout from this traumatic experience. Its entirely your discretion how you interpret the songs.
