Not only a solid jam of the early 70s, but the message continues to be relevant. "Thank You For Lettin' Me Be Myself Again" was another big hit for them.

Songs like this didn't bring people together. The people were already together. Big difference. The music didn't hurt , that's obvious. Martin Luther King jr. And all the people that marched with him they brought two people together oh, the music just cemented the bond. And a lot of Education to get rid of a lot of the ignorance. Racism wasn't the southern states thing. It was Nationwide. In one of Morgan Freeman's latest interviews the journalist interviewing him asked him how to stop racism in this country. Morgan Freeman's answer,,,,,"Stop talking about it". Best answer I ever heard on that subject. But I definitely love this music myself I do have the album by the way , well Greatest Hits anyway. Thank you guys for this see you later bye

This has been my favorite Sly song since it came out in 1968. As a young sailor of 20 then, I found that this song reminds me that at the end of the day we are all everyday people who have the same needs, heartaches, desires and we should just be cheering each other on in life. We've made life a competition , but it is not. Life isn't even about us. Its about God.

Hi Asia & BJ Love you guys! I saw Sly & The Family Stone and Joe Cocker at Freeport race track Long Island, NY. I was on the grass field near the stage. It was a hot summer night and when Sly went on, it got scorching. Just phenomenal! His band was so powerful with those guitars, drums, thundering bass and horn section. I've been a fan of this band since I first heard them on an 8 track tape my father gave me of them ... with this song on it when I was a young kid in 1970. But, one thing I never noticed about this song was ... years ago Phil Spector was a close friend, and he also loved this song, he called it a brilliant song, and he asked me if I noticed that through the entire song, start to finish, they are playing just one note, no chord changes at all. I never noticed that until he told me that.

Love this song! I remember when it came out. The reason people got along great back then was because you had songs like this being heard on your radio constantly. Songs can help change society's mind set. Where are the songs from artist today calling for unity today? Songs can impact society more than you realize. We need songs like this today to help mend us socially. Politicians just divide us. The old saying Divide and conquer seems to be their motive these days. We need to come together and love one another. Regardless of our political views. We don't have to agree on things, to be kind to each other.
