_That_ is utterly inhuman breath control. I passed out trying to count the seconds she held those notes, and they are really high in the range of any singer who can even hit them! Only a very, very few singers leave you speechless over and over and over again and Sohyang is the only one I actually know of. This is why we truly wonder if she actually is an alien ... 🤷‍♂😎😏💘 "Fate" is from 2012, the year most of us believe Sohyang had scaled the heights to become the world's best vocalist. She also did "Oh Holy Night" and "I Always Miss You" in 2012 and I, personally, don't think any other woman on the planet was on her level--and she has maintained it and even gotten better! Thank you so much for your reaction to this rarely reviewed performance!

G. I'm glad to see you back for more of our lady Sohyang. She plays her voice in the exactly same way that a violinist plays their instrument. For a beautiful example of her singing in Korean, find ""Sweet Dreams, My Dear" Lost Ark (Korean version). Also find "Arirang Alone" for another Traditional Folk song in Korean. She always looks and sounds a bit different depending on the genre, so 'feeling like the first time' comes along with Sohyang's versatility. Cheers.

Just imagine, by the looks of things you haven't touched her King of the mask singer yet. They are all kind of different. Breathe is one of her best. Mona Lisa is insane. She raps in Day Day and it's utterly epic lol. And then you have Misty from begin again korea.... the best jazzy performance. Oh and Home from masked singer is also one of my faves. All those are this level of great. All different. Seriously don't sleep on those thinking you've done/seen enough lol. She's a wizard. Breathe keeps making recent reactors tear up. I would argue there is a somberness to the song. The lyrics may be more resoluteful with bonds and connectedness, but especially the instrumental is bittersweet because belief that destiny will bring them together again also implies that the current time is coming to an end. So maybe on the bittersweet side?

Mahalo for another wonderful Sohyang reaction, she is indeed the best female vocalists out there. Truly GOD Tier! Totally overlooked and not often reacted to is her performance of "Where are You". So emotionally sung it will rip your heart out. You should check out Moon Myungjin Immortal Songs "Not just Sadness" or "Parting" Not Just Sadness was his second debut. After his first debut 2001 he was relatively obscure, singing OST's but never music shows for himself. He got a second break on Immortal Songs. He is an insane talent, master of R&B and makes every song his own unique interpretation. What's amazing is it never sounds like a cover, he truly makes over the song into his own R&B style. He also is the master of the sad song, like Sohyang you will feel it and cry every time after one of his performances. Many Immortal Song show both Sohyang and Moon Myungjin (and Ailee) are participating on the same program. You just have to give up and face the fact you will be put through the emotional wringer and cry multiple times because each performance is as splendid and moving as the next!

You reacted to Arirang Alone, that is a traditional Korean song and also Everyone, that is Korean with some English; so yes you have heard her sing in Korean before. :) Fate is an OST but done for a historically based show so it sounds traditional, but is actually modern- if that makes any sense. I highly recommend trying out some of her happy songs. She does have them. :) Day-Day on Begin Again Korea and two of her own songs "Someday" and "The Song begins"

May I recommend checking out the original singer's live version of this song? (So Hyang basically was doing a live cover, the original song is sung by Lee Sun Hee) Yes, this version that So Hyang sang was really powerful and you can feel her emotions -- everything comes to you like a tidal wave. But the original was more sorrowful and somber, it just slowly cradles your heart and crushes it. It's just as impactful, I feel. Not saying either one is better (though from personal preference I do enjoy the original one more), I just thought it would be nice and interesting for you to see the original and feel it for yourself.

When a singer can move you to tears in a language you don't have a clue what she is saying, THAT is saying something.
