After i was in a surgery accident i did loose alot of my will of life, but i did always have my family and friends to back me up. I have lost 6 friends and really close one, some of them sucides. And everytime i visit the graveyard. I always ask my self why am i here and not those guys, and i have fought my inner demons. But life is so mutch more, and i know i have those guys and girls as my guardian angels. So we will always fight on! And be kind to eachother, you never know when someone is fighting a hard battle. Just a hello can be just a light for the day to still continue.

I love everything about your interpretation of this song. It's one of my favorites from In Flames, and like most of their music it leaves a lot of room for people to find new and interesting meaning in the lyrics. You gave me a new perspective on this song and I'm so grateful of that. Being disconnected from your feelings is Only For the Weak.♥

I can 100% feel you on fear of abandonment, and that anxiety over being ghosted specially has spilled over into other relationships for me. Just here recently even :/ The events of this past January massively agitated all of that, as did what happened around Halloween. If there is an upside, it's that knowing is half the battle.

When this song came out, I wrote the lyrics, to my 13 year old daughter , in a card and also put it on her iPod. Because I knew my marriage was about to end and knew she would be raised by people that would tear me down and raise her in a way I would never have raised both girls. Now, I went from a dad she adored to not caring enough to even respond to a simple “ I love you “. Sucks to be thrown away…

A song that made cry recently was Dusturbed’s “Hold on to memories”. In Flames’s songs are typically more aggressive/heavy. Songs from them I like are “I Am Above” and “Only for the weak”. You aren’t annoying or a burden. I’d gladly listen to your problems. Another Linkin Park you should consider is “Heavy”. These songs aren’t necessarily being recommended for reactions. They are just to cheer you up when you feel low. “Hypa Hypa” and “We got the moves” by Eskimo Callboy. Funny videos and catchy as hell up beat songs.

I interpret “stay with me” as this person reaching out to them and basically saying “i know what you’re going through, you should see where I have been. Stay with me and I can lead you out of this darkness”. The person saying stay with me has gone through the same thing and survived and wants to help the person they are talking to. And doesn’t want them to wind up losing their battle and being lost to the darkness
Thanks for another good reaction 🤘🏻 I get a slightly different vibe from the song but that's the beauty of music imho. The back and forth between the person in the hole and the person trying to help is so true. There have been times that I was an asshole by not phoning friends when their loved ones have passed because I was "too afraid of saying the wrong thing". I'll have to work on that the next time something like that happens. Just that phone call could have helped a teensy tiny bit.

As I suicide survivor this song hit hard when it came out (I have been in flames fan since 12 years old and they have helped alot), I almost took my life 2 times ( I got lucky both times that my older brother saved me both times) after I got in serious accident that had me stay more or less in hospital for 2 years, while all my friends had fun i could not sit, stand or lay in bed with out so much pain that even painkillers did not work on, and he is the reason I am still here as he kept me positive and helped with rehabilitation of body that my doctor said would no be possible, Then few years later my older brother took his life and 2 of my friends all with in 6 months. That took so much to stay positive as I blamed myself for what happend, as he had saved me 2 times and helped me through all the pain I had but i could not save or help him that one time he needed my help. And i almost fell back into this hole of depression and suicide thoughts, but that was not an option that i had, i have a beautiful daughter that I have to stay here for and she deserves that I give it everything I have to not fall in that hole again. My brother took his life when my daughter was almost 2 years old, I feel like he knew that I was safe now and I would take care of his son, so he could go to a better place Everytime I hear this song it reminds me that I have to stay as I have to much to live for. I have never told that story not even my wife or mother knows how close I came to take my life 2 times, only me and my brother. Also reccomandtions songs that helps me stay on the right track and remined me of the good side of life Five finger death punch - brighter side of grey Asking alexandria - You have made it this far

I realize I'm quite a few months late, but I've always understood it as a sort of mentor relationship, where the person singing has been through that particular hell. They are trying to get their person to open their eyes, face reality and stick with them as they are trying to lead them to the light, as it's a path the person singing has walked before. I grant you, their lyrics are multi-interpretable and I don't think that's on accident. But the way I hear it, it's transcended love being poured out. It's not platonic or romantic, it's purely love for the fellow human, let me do good with the bad I've experienced. It's very powerful, the idea that the scars you've caught going through life could actually be used in a positive way, your damage isn't all bad. Not to say you should look to get damaged obviously, but life will do that to most of us regardless.

I think it’s saying the world takes you to a dark place , stay with me feels like telling someone to take in life , stay in the light and away from wanting death. Maybe someone fighting to stay alive or stay away from thoughts of ending it all. It could work for either really. It’s a fight to stay , and when you care it’s your fight as well with them. Fighting to not let them give up.
