I always thought that song deserved so much more credit than I recall it getting (deserved MORE playtime, too!)!

I remember watching this when it came out, and thought it was very powerful. You have to take it in context of what he is saying and showing you. You have to understand that some of the things that he showed are common place now, and even if we knew of a single mom who is an alcoholic, or a young girl being lusted after by her father, and man who cross dresses... fast forward 40 years and here we are ;0 It's a great song

"what did your momma tell you 'bout lies? she said it wasn't polite to tell a white one. what did your daddy tell you 'bout lies? he said a white one turns into a black one." this is my favorite Stevie Wonder song. as for the video: it was a beautiful neighborhood with seemingly perfect people with many "Skeletons" behind closed doors. in spite of there perfect appearances, they all weren't that perfect at all. and Stevie, being blind, sees them most of all.

One of my favorite Stevie Wonder songs. I have about 40 of them..lol I always loved how the chorus used so many ways to say a secret was going to be exposed.

This was from the album Characters that had a lot of brilliant songs like With Every Beat Of My Heart, Get it, a duet with Michael Jackson, Let My Love Come Down with BB King, My Eyes Don't Cry with Chaka Khahn making a cameo and my favorite, I'll be in Your Corner which was an homage to the Motown Sound of the '60's. A lot of folks slept on this brilliant work.

I adore the song. But - I love the video, too - because of the symbolism that lies right beneath the surface. Unseeing, he saw. Stevie knew the secrets of the entire neighborhood. But at the end - when everyone came into his room - he hid his eyes behind his shades...because he too had something to hide.

Solid tune from the genius, great video as well. Bonus note: a few of the kids who bullied young Stevie in the beginning of the video were members of the group THE BOYS. They had a minor hit with: DIAL MY HEART

I was a little kid in the 80s the stories in the video was happening a lot. Looks good on outside but inside things were going on. Video told a Story definitely not corny this came out in 87

Always loved this jam! As I got older I still did and still do- it was then that I realized what the scenes, lyrics meant- the video depicted it for me much easier- very real stuff- still a great jam! Another jam of his I feel was/is underrated is called “That Girl.” I’d love to see you do that one- 👍✌️

My favorite Stevie Wonder song. Well second to Living for the City. Skeletons was from1987. There's a duet with Michael Jackson on the album called Get It. Good song. Not as good as this one but not too many are.

You can't really appreciate this song until you listen to/read the lyrics....especially the hooks with all the "gettin' ready to ....." All the different ways the SKELETONS are exposed.
