This song opened my eyes. I had been in love with my brother's best friend since we were teenagers. He didn't know. He never knew. He had a girlfriend who later became his wife. As the years passed, I became his confidante and he would come to me with his problems. He would call me or visit me and we would just sit on the couch talking. Now, we never had an affair. Never passed a threshold of any kind other than a hug when he arrived and a hug when he left, but he hugged everybody. I was so in love with that man that no other man could compare to him. And he is a good man. But hearing that song, realizing that, even though nothing happened of any kind "it's too much pain to hate to bear to love a man you have to share" just... destroyed me because yes, every time he left I would cry. every time I would see him with her it would destroy me more and more. So I walked away from our friendship. I told him I was busy when he wanted us to see each other, I wouldn't respond to his text until two days later and eventually, we grew apart. I met someone else and gave him a chance. I love him, but not like I loved Seb. Part of me will always love him. And after years of waiting for him to be available, decades, really, he finally left her two years ago. Now that I am not available to pursue it anymore. So, yeah... This song is both one of my favorite, and one that breaks my heart again and again.

Phenomenal duo, and Jennifer is an amazing singer as a solo act. A fun video from Sugarland is Stuck Like Glue. And, her live duet with Brandi Clark (His Hands) is very powerful.

I love suggesting "Stuck Like Glue" (the original video) after reactors see this song as their first exposure to Sugarland. This ain't at all what they're about. It's a beautiful, emotional, timeless, amazing song, and I love it. But to me, "Stuck Like Glue" and "Something More" are more indicative of their music and style.

Jennifer has amazing control with her unique voice. That wasn't a performance, she was going through a tough divorce (there is no information on why) at the time so the emotion was real. For a different mood from Sugarland, "Stuck Like Glue" is an upbeat, fun and even silly song, with an absolutely hilarious video. Another perspective of her personality. I like the perspective of the song. The cheater is taking advantage of 2 people in most affairs.

She got the idea from Reba's song Whoever's in New England, which is on the wife's perspective, saying no one has done one from the other woman's side. She wrote it in 2003 and shelved it. She's stated in interviews it had nothing to do with her marriage at the time when they finally released it.

There are so many "let it all out, go ahead and cry all you want" songs in the Country sphere. Martina McBride could have a master class all by herself with "Concrete Angel", "Independence Day", "God's Will", and "A Broken Wing". I think she covered all the "home life can really suck" bases with just those there. Country Songs that always pull at my heart strings: "Don't Take the Girl" - Tim McGraw (1994) "Fire Away" - Chris Stapleton (2016) "Whiskey Lullaby" - Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss (2005) "The House that Built Me" - Miranda Lambert (2010... and totally out of step with most of the rest of her catalogue. Many of her songs are about kickin' ass and taking names.) "Believe" - Brooks and Dunn (2005) "What Hurts the Most" - Rascal Flatts (2006) "The Dance" - Garth Brooks (1990 - Anything labeled Garth Brooks on KZbin is almost certainly not Garth Brooks. His people scrub his stuff from the net and you will get dinged if you react to him in any way. But that doesn't mean that his two double-digit multi-platinum... like way past diamond... Albums "No Fences" and "Ropin' the Wind" shouldn't be listened to in their entirety in the comfort of your own home. They're awesome. And boy, howdy can that man put on a concert!) "If Tomorrow Never Comes" - Garth Brooks (1989) "Hurt" - Johnny Cash (2002 - Almost a word-for-word cover of the Nine Inch Nails song from their Downward Spiral album. His last video before he passed.)

Yes, BUT sometimes they honestly don't know, and when you have someone who's faithful in their relationships only to find out that major detail late in the game.... It can mess with them ! I'm in no place to judge anybody for anything really. I just know it's not always black and white. There's grey areas thrown in there a lot of the time and people tend to snap judgement ( if I was being cheated on, I'd be livid as well tho) but once in awhile there is actually an innocent party involved. There's actually good people who get tangled up in situations that they never dreamed they specifically would be in because of morals, religious beliefs, past relationships etc.... Then they get hit with a sucker punch of truth w/ facts that their bf/gf is actually taken/married ! It's all F"d up really!

That song and especially the video hits you right in the feels. I love the raw emotion by Jennifer and how she’s hurting, begs him to stay with her, but develops strength as the song progresses until she tells him to stay away. This topic may be uncomfortable for some but Country tells it like it is and if there’s any emotion that you’re dealing with, this genre will bottle those feelings up and make music that will hopefully help you. Great songs along the lines of this one, about infidelity, realizing your mistakes, or even getting the courage to break free from a damaging relationship are All These Years by Sawyer Brown; Promises, Reasons I Cheat, and Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart by Randy Travis; It’s Your Call by Reba McEntire; Leave My Heart Out of This by Bryan White; I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No by Blackhawk; and You Were Mine by the Dixie Chicks.

Watch it again and focus on Kristian's eyes...you can tell he's hanging on by his nails.
