I'm glad you noticed that she was holding back... because when she goes off... it's insane. She isn't known to be a belter like Ailee but she is controlled and poised. The single thing that make Taeyeon stands out among all other vocalist is her innate ability to convey emotions when she sings. This was very apparent to her senior/mentor while she was a trainee and he featured her in one of his song even before she debut. Throughout her career as the leader of SNSD, she was very well regarded as one of the vocal that transcend the kpop girl group tropes. This is further displayed in the incredible discography of all the OSTs she was featured on. This video simple is a appetizer for the expansive and versatile sounds of Taeyeon. There are way too many songs of hers that truly deserve to be in this performance.

I wouldn't say memebrs choosing to focus on their solo carreers after 10 years as idols is 'mismanagement' exactly. Actually it's after 15-17 years if count the years they spent as trainees at SM. Seems totally normal to me. And the fact that SM supported the members who chose to leave and coordinated/produced a full album for their 15th anniversaty with all 8 is actually pretty impressive IMO. Not all companies would agree to that and I'm very happy it's becoming more common.
