Funny you should say that with every step it feels like she should/could be leaving a crack in the stage. I guess you aren't the only one who had that thought because there's a segment in her Era's tour - not to this song, but to "Delicate" - where that is exactly what happens. It's an insanely cool effect!

Finally got me to subscribe😅Want to help hit the 400k! Your reactions are Fanfrkntastic!!! Lol. I’m in the same boat. I’ll be 40 next month; thus, when she and all the ‘pop girls’ started coming up, not my thing. Though I am huge on music.. grew up on CD’s & Albums. Plus my one and only son graduates in 2024.. An extra emotional year. I’ve been off of social media for a few years due to last bad divorce, safety, etc. You made me finally want to say something. On private time do check out all the songs she’s written for others. Few years ago before I knew her full catalog.. heard she wrote Better Man. Saved me back then. This is coming from one born in Miami, moved to NY, ended up in Atlanta. So obviously you can tell I’m more of a R&B, Rap, Rock/Alternative type. Happy New Year! 💙

I (as an elder Millennial) had been a passive listener to Taylor for the last 15 years. Meaning, I listened and enjoyed when on the radio but never bought albums or delved into her non-radio music. I was never a hater, just not a Swiftie. Then, in this year of Barbie and Eras, I started paying attention. I had this same experience myself. I was shocked that I had missed years of exceptional lyricism. Years of the fun of having something that you’re really excited about. I’m so happy to have this now, but sad I didn’t always have it when I needed it before. ❤

This version of I knew you were trouble was only for the 1989 world tour(2015). This is not part of the re-recording albums she has been doing since 2021. Taylor has been re-recording her first 6 albums to own her music. Her old record label sold her catalogue to Scooter Braun and she didn't have a say about it even if she put all her effort to create all that music. That's why now we have to listen the new versions (Taylor's version), so she receive all the credits as she should. Btw... amazing reaction as always. I'm loving every single minute of this journey because yes, it's ridicously how she can surprise with every side of her 😂 Talking about 1989, she put out the Taylor's version like 3 weeks ago. You should listen Style or Wildest Dreams. They are bops. All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's version) is good too. It's more country but it's full of her Pen game. One of the most vulnerable songs she has out there. Can't wait for your next reaction!

Bro, a year ago I was exactly like you. I heard the name Taylor Swift, and I immediately heard what the media has told me about her for years, and never took the time to form my own opinion. I have never been happier to be so wrong. It's also really comforting to hear you say you feel guilty for having such an incorrect perception of her. I feel exactly the same way, and I feel like if I ever get the opportunity to meet her, I should apologize to her, as silly as that sounds. I really recommend reacting to some of the songs from her "Live from City of Lover" concert. Specifically, "Cornelia Street" and "Death By a Thousand Cuts." Fair warning, the tear ducts will be working overtime when you hear the emotion she puts into those two songs. Plus, it's just her and an acoustic guitar, which, in my humble opinion, is Taylor at her absolute best. Also, watch "Miss Americana" on Netflix if you can. She is not only an absolutely phenomenal storyteller, songwriter, singer, and performer, but also a good old fashioned good person, and the documentary does a fantastic job of putting that on display.
@Freijana Жыл бұрын
It's always crazy to me when I watch the 1989 concert clips. In the Miss americana Doctumemtary she said that back then (because of an eating disorder) she always felt like she would pass out on stage, but she still delivered that kind of amazing show. She has such an insane work ethic when it comes to show up for her fans. (but obviously I am very happy that she got out of that bad mental state)
@amandam.4841 Жыл бұрын
One thing (of many) i really enjoy about Taylor is that she really tries to make sure that her tours stay unpredictable. This song was on her Red album ( the album BEFORE the 1989 album/tour, which is what you just watched), so it had already been performed during the Red tour. With that in mind, she completely changed up the delivery/production/tempo so this song would feel new and exciting for those who saw the Red tour. Another example of this is Love Story, which was on her 2nd album -- she's performed Love Story at every tour, but there's usually a shift in production so it fits the "era" shes currently in.

Taylor Swift threw a water bottle to a fan in Brazil mid-song without missing a beat, which really hit me in the emotions somehow. Also stopping the concert until she was sure that water was being passed out to some fans way off to the side. It’s so sad how things played out in Rio, but it really seems like she did everything possible to help once she was aware of the problem… I’m loving these reactions. It would be so fun to see you do some full concerts or something. Like watching all of Speak Now, where she’s only 19-20 and already such a damn good performer. The whole thing is up on youtube (for the time being :x not sure if it’ll stay up) and the entire album was written solely by Taylor, no cowriters. It’s got some charming/cute/funny moments and also some epic moments. Like “Dear John” where she sings about John Mayer, who dated her when she was 19 and he was freaking 32, like, what a CREEP… Or if you’re feeling Christmasy, she has a sweet Christmas song called “Christmas Tree Farm” with a music video made out of home movies of her and her family. It’s so cute. If you want that ‘just a normal person’ side to her again. It’s nothing epic, but it’s got that old classic Christmas jingle to it. Really nostalgic vibe.

This song is about Harry Styles, and she won an MTV award for it. Harry was there in the audience and she said to the boy who influenced this song, you know who you are, Thank- You because now I have one of these and held up the Moon Man. YAAASSSS!!!!!
@rainydaysarebest9 ай бұрын
It’s actually about Jake Gyllenhaal. It’s from the Red album, which mostly takes from the ups and downs of their relationship. She was dating Harry during the release of Red, but not the writing of it. 1989 itself is mostly about Harry 😅

Another amazing reaction that I’m very grateful you shared with us 😊 I see a lot of people recommending All Too Well the 10 minute version and I agree but I think you should listen to the song and then also watch her short film! I know that’s 20 minutes of content but it’s so worth it to do it that way! Then you can grasp the brilliance of her lyricism AND the brilliance of her self-directed and self-produced short film without one overshadowing the other. It’s so easy to miss lyrics because the film is such a masterpiece, but literally every word in that song is so meaningful. It’s truly her Magnum Opus!

You need to watch I Did Something Bad the live performance from her Reputation tour. I’m telling you it’s 🔥! Her whole Reputation tour is like nothing you have seen from her! Badass!

I have really grown to love your reactions. Being wrong is human and admitting it is part of growth. I've been wrong about way more things than I've been right about over my life and the older I get the more I see that. Its one of the gifts that comes with the privilege of age.

Your reactions are amazing! She is definitely not the perception that everyone has of her! Can't wait for you to see the Eras Tour Film when it comes to streaming You absolutely need to do All Too Well (10 minute version). There is a short film that Taylor directed that goes with the song but I think it's best to watch the lyric video first to fully react and take in the song and then watch the short film. Otherwise it can be too distracting to focus on the song and the film at the same time. But it is such a masterpiece of songwriting. Info about the 10 minute version: The song All Too Well was originally on her Red album and it was a 5 minute song. It became loved by fans instantly. But she revealed in an interview that the song was originally 10 minutes but she had to cut it down for the album. So when she was finally allowed to re-record the Red album fans essentially "bullied" her into releasing the full 10 minute version. And she obliged :)

You have inspired me with your declaration of assumptions. I am also guilty of this. After watching your reaction, I am making it my mission to listen to different musical artists. Growing up, I was raised in a home where we listened to music from all over the world: Japan, the Middle East, Australia, American Indian, Opera, etc. However, I am a classic rock chick to the core of my soul. But there is no other artist like Taylor. Those classic rock bands made great music but they didn't last long. Thank you for such a great reaction. I loved it.

Watching your reaction to TS is cracking me up. If you want more live power and drama (with a gospel vibe) you need to watch Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour. Your brain will fall out! 😂 One word...EPIC!

The stage thing is I think why the eras tour stage is shaped the way it is - maximum front row access! Also this album is so cool because after she didn’t win big awards for Red she was like okay I gotta change how I approach my albums and in that process she did the two things she never thought she’d do: move to New York City and cut her hair short. I think it was a big moment of maturing for her and it’s really beautiful that after rethinking her career and her life she came out with the pop Bible and the songs were such hits she could do these crazy remixes on tour. So epic and I loved your reaction 💖

A sad fact of our world is that women and girls are written off due to misogyny before their actual merit or individuality has been assessed. This happens in all walks of life, and is an experience that Taylor and her fans find solidarity in. It's really sweet and wholesome that you are brought to tears over realizing you had done this to Taylor, and likely to others. I think most people - men and women alike - go their whole lives without realizing they do this to women, so good on you.

Every "first time reacting to Taylor Swift" video I watch (usually of men) they always say that Taylor isn't what they expected. It's definitely rooted in a deep internalized misogyny that anything that has a majority female audience is annoying and childish. I think it would be beneficial if you looked at your original perception in that context and see if there is any truth to that. Props to you for admitting you were wrong and being so vulnerable about it. Taylor has smashed every single record in every aspect of her career for a reason and this idea that women have bad taste really limits your world view. Looking forward to more reactions from you! Welcome to the swiftie fandom.
