So many Beatles songs were big hits, but this was definitely one that got a lot of play and was well-known. As for who was on violin, that was a string quartet hired for the job, with two violas and two cellos as well.

Paul started out on trumpet before getting a guitar. John learned harmonica and banjo. Ringo and George can also play a little piano, and George had all his Indian instruments. None of them play violin, cello, or viola.

Although John helped with a word or two, and George came up with the intro, this is just Paul and a London Philharmonic string quartet.

That isn't the usual mix. The Beatles did this song in the mid 1960s, and it was totally original. Sampling wasn't even invented then. The string instruments were of course played by musicians they brought in especially. This was the Beatles doing something other bands hadn't done much before then. They were transforming from the planet's most successful pop music band, into a band doing more serious and interesting stuff. And this song was and remains brilliant. Or the proper version is. I'm not sure what you have here.
