I can honestly say that this was an actual pick-up line in the mid to late 70s and early 80s. As matter of fact the line was around before the song! The Bellamy Brothers were the only ones who could take such a crass pick-up line and make it into something beautiful!

I was in high school when this song came out, and yes, we used that line. Most of us grew up, though! I don't usually like country but these guys are my favorite country band. Off the same album is I AIN'T JUST WHISTLING DIXIE. That could be your next BB song.

This song is bittersweet for me. It's one of the 1st songs my girlfriend & I said was "our song". We were together 43 years. She passed away in April of this year. This is the hardest thing I've ever gone thru. She was such a wonderful person. The most caring & selfless person you could know. I miss her terribly, but thank you for playing this great memory.

I am so sorry for your loss. 7:44 ! I get so depressed I am 66 years old and I have one older brother and he is 77 years old. I can not help myself but thinking how much longer is he going to be around. My brother name is Charlie Jackson and he has way out lived anyone else in our family. I also have a older sister she is 70 but she has a lot of health issues. I am 66 I have had open heart surgery and 15 years ago I am just had surgery to remove a polyp on my upper intestine. Thank goodness 😅 it wasn’t cancerous. I have lost 5 other older brother.Of course I lost both of my parents back in 1995. But I had lost two of my brothers even before my parents passageway. My Wife is 70 and I worry about her getting sick. She has health issues. I know that I sound very very stupid but I have lost so many people that I love. I just lost a brother about 3 years ago and I just lost a nephew a little over a year ago. My nephew was the son of my brother who just passed. They both had cancer ♋️ and I lost my mom and another brother to cancer ♋️. I pretty much think about all of them every day. I just find it so very hard to believe that I only have one brother and one sister left living. 7:44 !

Quite a few country singers incorporate island vibes and island love into their music. TRY Alan Jackson and Jimmy Buffet singing Its 5 0" clock somewhere and especially Kenny Chesney singing No Shirt, No Shoes, No Problem. Buffet is the king of island music as well. And Jack Johnson is spectacular for it as well, since he lives in Hawaii...his song Banana Pancakes is sweet and great for kids, too ..and he has much more. I love all the diversity of country, pop and how they incorporate island music.

Had to wait over an hour for Tanya to show up for the show. She was late because she loved flea markets. It was worth the wait. But l was beginning to think she wouldn't show up.
