Even though he lost his voice from the accident, his career isn't ruined. He wrote for NWA after Ice Cube left and also did a lot of writing for Dr. Dre for his albums so he's definitely still paid. Also another dope D.O.C. track is The DOC and The Doctor.

DOC was, in my opinion, tthe dopest on Ruthless. His album. "No One Can Do It Better" is one of my all time favorites. After Cube left NWA, DOC and Ren were the primary writers for the crew and he wrote for Dr. Dre nearly his entire career. After his accident, Dr. Dre, has acttually taken care of him his whole liife.

DOC was solo artist part of the Ruthless family. He wrote lyrics for NWA albums... Dre solo albums, Snoop...etc. But the car accident derailed a career where we could be looking at a Mount Rushmore of artists in which he could have been one. His first album, No One Can Do it Better... 🙌👏👏👏👏; I think he may cursed like two or three times the whole album. Dude is probably one of the most underrated artists ever.

When cube left DOC wrote a majority of NWA second album and wrote most of the lyrics on DR Dre’s chronic album and snoop credits him him teaching him and mentoring him on how to write lyrics. DOC is originally from Dallas Texas and before joining the NWA crew was apart of the Fila Crew out of Dallas TX. DOC also says his favorite rapper and biggest influence what the GOAT Rakim.

It wasn’t the actual accident that ruined his voice and career. The doctor who did his operation to repair the damage screwed up by cutting off and removing too much tissue on the vocal cords which made the healing tissue because the vocal cords could not expand and the tissues spread out and lay evenly as it healed. Too much was removed and another doctor discovered the mistake much later. I do not know if he ever sued for that but it was the doctor’s screw up during the initial surgery following the accident that ruined his vocal cords and his career. He actually talks about it in an interview. Career gone all because of a doctor’s major mistake because he didn’t know what the hell he was doing. It you cut away too much tissue around a a wound during a surgery it makes it extremely difficult to heal because there is less room and space for the scar tissue to heal and be flexible and be in a relaxed state and lye flat as oppose to being too tight around the healing area and the regrowth of granulated tissue is severely compromised. The doctor during his surgery literally remove way too much tissue around and in the vocal cords so his cart did not end when his car flipped several times and ejected him which is a miracle. The damage substained would have healed, the DOC was lucky in that regard. His career ended in that damn operating table during the immediate surgery that took place right after the accident at the hands of an incompetent doctor. The DOC talks about this on how another doctor found the mistake later on and explained it to him as to the real reason why his voice never recovered and had no chance of returning due to what the first doctor had done. That’s the real reason he sounds the way he do today, literally a doctor cut away and removed far more tissue than he was suppose to and more than what was actually necessary. That’s a damn shame. That is what really turned him to having a serious drinking problem later because he was depressed to find that out and was self medicating for years but continued to write most of NWA’s material as well as for Dr Dre and teaching and mentoring snoop how to write and how to structure lyrics and verse and how to flow literally helping snoop be who he is today. The NWA nor Dre nor snoop happens or becomes who they are today as we know them without the DOC because he was the bigger reason for there success as he wrote a majority of everything including NWA’s 2nd album after Cube had left the group. And their classic 1st album is the product of Ice Cube and the DOC’s pen probably by 90-95 percent because the DOC and cube literally wrote all of the verses for everybody on that first album except for MC Rens verses.

D.O.C. wasn’t an official member of NWA but he was like an extended member. After Cube left he helped Ren write for Eazy. D.O.C. write the whole “We Want Eazy” joint. D.O.C. became a ghost writer after losing his voice and helped Snoop with his lyrics during the early part of Snoop’s career. Seeing that he was helping Snoop, obviously he stuck with Dre when Eazy and Dre fell out.

Couple of things. He was signed to Ruthless as an artist, but also wrote allot of the rhymes. Dre & Eazy were not rappers, so everything they rapped was written by Cube, DOC or Ren. When Cube left then basically Ren n DOC. After the wreck he actually couldn't speak at all for a few years. To cope with the life changing event he started drinking even more. Which also caused him not to handle business. He was supposed to be part off Death Row ownership and he wrote tons of music for death row. But ended up not as part owner and not paid for any of his writing for death row or ruthless
