Thanks Jess and to the person who requested. Very good band. Jessica left in 2010. Have tickets for them (Larkin Poe) in May. My favorite coffee has been Starbuck's Sumatran.

@@johnytwo Maybe, touring with Eivor? Seems to me I watched them/her before on yt but I don't remember.

@@Dave-hb7lx Sounds a bit like heavier Kalandra.

The Lovell (they use the pronunciation Lov-ull) sisters were a great band. One of my favorites is the song "Paulita Maxwell". There is a recording of the debut performance on the Strings4notes KZbin channel. Since you mentioned liking violin, there is a performance of Larkin Poe performing a cover of Massive Attack's "Teardrop" where Rebecca is playing fiddle, before switching back to mandolin. It's on the SceneSC channel.

Kind of new to Larkin Poe, and didn't know they (+1) existed under this name, so thanks. 👍🤟

@Dave-hb7lx Thanks, I believe that's where I discovered them.

Always loved them. I have their first CD. Autographed. Jessica left the group to get married and move to Canada. The other two sisters renamed themselves Larkin Poe (one of their ancestors, who was a cousin of Edgar Allan Poe I believe) and branched out from Bluegrass into all kinds of genres. They're very good. but I like the original group and sound the best.

Hi dear Jessie ! I saw Larkin Poe at a Geman blues festival back in 2016 and loved them ! Unfortunately, I never saw them again after this gig, because the tickets for their concerts were getting too expensive for me... anyway, great song ! This is the first time I see them perform as "The Lovell Sisters"... sounds really good ! With the double bass and the mandolin... and the violin... wow, so different from what Larkin Poe are playing now. Loved this one ! Jimi Hendrix's version sounds - of course - pretty much different ! Check it out for yourself, if you want, it's really worth listening to. Great reaction from you, as always... needless to mention, I know... 🙂 Best wishes from Germany to TX : Gerry PS : Lcve your pigtails....

was really hoping this was a bluegrass cover of two ton boa's "bleeding heart." well worth a reaction in its own right. hope the best for you in recent troubles. love, respect and strength to you and yours.

So glad that you enjoyed this Jessie. When I requested this I couldn't remember who did the original, and was too lazy to look it up 😊 The song was originally done by Elmore James but the girls' version is much more Jimi than James. There are plenty of originals from the sisters but another great cover is their version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues.

Wow, so many different ways to play strings. I did hear it all ok, your mic's good lately btw. Coffee! Freshly ground, home made, max crema cappuccino. Mmm.... Bye! ☕

Favorite coffee? None, thanks. Never liked the smell. The Love-ull ( pronounciation) Sisters also did "Hey, Joe", and " In My Time of Dying". Love that you went to the bottom of the rabbit hole ( if there is one). Jessica went to college and got married. She preferred handling the logistics of touring, to the actual touring. Megan is a great singer too, just prefers the backup/harmony role. When they restarted the band without Jessica, neither one wanted to be the lead singer, Glad Rebecca relented ! 😊👍❤

When you pronounced their last name wrong, I turned it off.
