Fun fact the 2nd half of the solo is actually a call back to one of Ky's previous themes " ~ Be Just or Be Dead ~" which is widely considered to be one of, if not the best Guilty Gear song of all time. You can also hear this rhythm in part of Sin's Strive theme "The Hourglass" as it plays alongside "Awe of She" which is Dizzy's theme (this is because Sin is the child of Ky and Dizzy)

One of the best, but certainly the most fun to play. There's a million guitar covers because it's actually just fun.

To provide some context for the lyrics (Ky is regarded as the main hero of the Guilty Gear story, so there's a lot to him): Ky Kiske is a man of unbridled ambition for peace. He has no qualms putting his life on the line to protect the weak, and he never half-asses anything. This makes him the absolute polar opposite to the lazy, selfish Sol Badguy. Despite that, both served together in the "Holy Order", an organization with vaguely christian guidances that is dedicated to fighting for peace - a perfect match for Ky. But when Sol suddenly turns his back on the Holy Order, Ky doesn't understand why, and sees it as betrayal. He becomes more fiercely loyal to the Order, and basically becomes something akin to a police officer, arresting criminals in the name of the Order, and enforcing their justice. But as he travels the world, he comes to realize that despite the Order's best efforts, a lot of people resort to lawless means to survive in an inequal world. His "faith" is tested by these experiences time and time again, and he struggles to find a path that he himself can see as truly just. But through his actions, he eventually becomes the First King of Illyria, a nation comprised of multiple parts of Europe. Here, he becomes a beacon of hope for the people, but he has yet to find the right resolves with which to lead them. Over the course of his time as king, Ky eventually comes to terms with the truth that there is no absolute justice. The people need a leader, and his heartfelt wish is to lead these people to a brighter future, regardless of what happens to him. With this realization, he accepts that his "faith" was never wrong or changed, he just failed to see that it was all him instead of a greater idea. "The Roar of the Spark" encompasses Ky's personal zenith: a man with absolutel resolve, willing to carry burden after burden to preserve peace and happiness. He doesn't know what lies ahead of him, and he knows not everyone will agree with him, but he won't stop until peace is assured, or he breathes his last. He does worry that his action might make things worse, but he vows to never falter again.

i hate/love ky's theme, as a man who has given up on his dream, it just somehow forces out so much motivation from me and it makes me want to try again. it makes me want to work out. it makes me feel like i should be able to do anything if i just keep going and not stopping. it's so fucking motivational and inspiring.

Go to the gym brother, mold yourself into the sort of person who fully accepts and loves the calling put forth by Ky's theme. Even if your dream is in the past your success and growth is in your future. Godspeed friend

I'm sure another comment will mention the lore I just want to say that I love the phrase "bearing the pale fire", because he uses lightning magic and electricity in it's raw concentrated form is almost like a pale flame

So like I love Ky as a character and the development he's had throughout the franchise, but also this is still my #1 favorite song in the strive ost. I've always been a big dragonforce fan and this track just keeps reminding me of thier work which I think might be why its my favorite lol.

One thing I will say is that many times the song references and straight up uses the motif of "Holy Orders ~Be Just or Be Dead~", considered by many, including myself to be the BEST Guilty Gear song ever made. It was around since the very first game and is the theme of Ky in GG1, and later remixed for GGX (the second entry) and GG2 (A spin off that is indeed canon). The motif is probably one of the best songs I ever heard, and I HIGHLY recommend you listen to it. It's not a lyrical song, but the non-lyrical songs (from all the games) are just as good as the lyrical ones

I swear there are a couple of moments on this song where I can hear Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" playing. It's just a small bit, but I can't unhear it.

Man I just do not get tired of this song. Good call on the vampire slayer mood. He's a monster hunter ascended to a throne. He'd fit right in with the Belmonts, but he would ask them to watch their language, please.

You've almost definitely had this recommendation a lot (I've probably recommended it at least once) but Let Me Carve Your Way is incredible, and very telling of the character it's for

fantastic reaction as always! As for stuff I'd like to see on the channel, more Roselia, or maybe some other BanG Dream! stuff. with now 8 bands, there is certainly a variety of different sounds to hear.

Cool that you picked up on the slight religious tones, its definitely part of his character. Being that he is a King of a kingdom with a religious type order. Great first impression

The scum dipper is a necessary evil. An evil which I abuse when trolling by acting silly and whimsical.

Me when the generic white boy has character development throughout the games unlike a certain protagonist (cough cough Sol)
@SoI_Badguy

@matboss1115 sol definitely has character development. He's a dick in the first couple games and literally a slightly grumpy but kindhearted grandpa in the later ones (acts more like an uncle or something, but that family tree is a mess)
