For sure the greatest rock and roll band in history, at least IMO! I’m new to the channel, so forgive me if you have already reacted to other Stones songs. I recommend going back a little further in their catalog and check out: Gimme Shelter, Sympathy for the Devil, Honky Tonk Women, Jumping Jack Flash, Street Fighting Man, Brown Sugar, Can’t You Hear Me Knockin……and that’s not even scratching the surface!

I was lucky enough to grow up with this music in the 6o's, 7o's, 8o's, 9o's, etc. As a black kid in a military family, it was the best way to connect with new people you met as your family moved from station to station. My parents never put up barriers as to what music to listen to as we grew up. My Mom would simply turn on the radio and sing along as she did her housework. We learned as the music changed in the late 6o's and early 7o's about the albums and liner notes that told us about the band, players, songwriters, and other musicians involved in making the music. Elton John, the Beatles, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and many, many others infiltrated my ears, mind, heart, and soul to this day. There was also all the great soul, r&b, jazz, disco, punk, new wave, pop, dance, funk, symphonic, island, reggae, and any other music that came our way. It is sad to hear when parents didn't want their kids listening to a particular kind of music because it wasn't ours. Music is for everyone. And rock-n-roll proves that as the most inclusive of all genres, as a hybrid of the best of the music that came before. It is organic, tribal, and can molded.in any fashion like a recipe for food. Season to taste, borrow from others, steal the neat and potatoes, and get on with it. The Rolling Stones came at me twice when I was young. First as part of the British Invasion with the Beatles, and again in high-school. This song in particular made me sign up for lifetime subscription to Mick, Keith, and boys. Their catalog is deep and varied. You will find a lot to like. Because as this song proclaims, IT'S ONLY ROCK-N-ROLL, ( BUT I LIKE IT). Your journey is just beginning. Enjoy

Tbeir love for blues and R&B always came thru in a lot of their songs, that's why they can get that groove, it's that blues-rock swagger...it's awesome. If you really wanna hear the R&B influence, check out "Beast of Burden", it's like their homage to R&B

Their greatest nugget for me : Hillside Blues /I Don't Know Why. Never officially released from the Exile album 1970 because Richards ( rhythm guitar) hated Taylor who was a superior musician. The Album it's only rock... was there last good one off the long period of 69 - 75 were they finally hexed the influence of Brian Jones death/ murder. Mid 70s tours the biggest in Rock featured Jagger dancing around a giant inflating penis. Their 2 greatest Albums Altmont Freeway 1969 and Exile On Main Street Part 2 Outakes were never released. The Alt Stoners Jones Faithful Taylor Wyman provide a very different story to the usual adulation of the fans and raises the question how original were they really? McCartney ( Beatles /Wings) dismissed them recently as : A Karaoke Blues Cover Band.

My favorite band the Worlds Greatest Rock & Roll band seen them 6 times the first in 1981 as 14 yr old the last being in 2019 as a 52 yr old over 60 years of making classic rock and roll love the Stones I saw them (2005) in a small club in Toronto that held only 2000 people as they did a warm-up show before they started their tour it only cost me 10 bucks to get in the club was called the Phoenix Concert Theatre in downtown Toronto.

My boyhood heroes from the 60's. Brian Jones was my favourite but he sadly passed at an early age and was replaced by Mick Jones who you see in this video, They have made many great tunes,

Not the best version of this song. Yes, at one time the greatest R&R Band in the world, hands down! Their Live act alone !!!!!!!! No one and I mean no one was as good. The Beatles stopped doing live shows and well. Jimmy Page though a great powerful singer had none of the stage qualities of Mick Jagger. The Stones were and are simply the sexiest of them all. Keith wrote most of their music and Jagger the lyrics. UNREAL!!!
