Because this video is so sonically and visually unreal, you paid attention to the lyrics, which most people do not do. The lyrics get buried in the unreal talent of the musicians, they don't realize how good the lyrics/vocals are, You did. Thank you.

I took a music class in college, and while I forgot the main analysis, the professor talked about this song, and how the lyrics and the composition are really up there, but it gets too easily overlooked by people because of the speed, genre, and the fact that a lot of people heard it from Guitar Hero first.😂😂

Given the theme of this channel, that version is an absolute must. Because that version is the multimedia version of mental health care. And it's free. Feeling down? That version will fill you with joy and make you smile from index finger to index finger. A Junna video a day keeps anti depressants away :) Watched her all night (reactions), and I'm exhausted with joy.

Hey Amanda, recent subscriber here. I love your videos not just for the rock reactions (I'm a fan of the genre) but also because of the positivity regarding mental health. Speaking as a clinically depressed person, I love how metal can both encapsulate the pain and anger we often feel, but how it can also be full of positive affirmations and energizing motivation. I would love to see your reaction to one such motivating song for me, which is "Vice Grip" by Parkway Drive.

everything we go through is just a lesson we need to learn, so if you keep repeating it you haven't learned yet, live life forward don't dwell on the past, it took me a while to get this myself but it's what helps me get through it all every time I feel down I keep telling myself this until it sinks in, and yeah as Larry Wright pointed out Tina S is incredible with her skill on guitar and her cover of this song is mind blowing as she plays both parts, another amazing cover is the drum cover by Junna who Gee Anzalone (Dragonforce's drummer) said it's the best cover of the song he has ever seen

I’m not too familiar with the sub-genre at all, but this is power metal. Highly melodic and epically dramatic. And I’d have to imagine this is considered a power metal classic. The ultra-fast-forward guitar playing is of course unbelievable. Even Metallica’s lead guitarist said it was the fastest guitar playing he’d ever seen. These guys are totally unreal guitar heroes and, really, what an amazing metal band. And, since you asked, I’m glad to say I’m very far along on my own self-improvement journey. Unfortunately still not completely where I want to be. But I’ve spent literally years focusing on strengthening my personal energy and mind. It’s a path that’s taken some unexpected turns, that I didn’t see coming. But all in all I’m doing better than ever in my life, which was my goal from the start.

Amanda, another great reaction! You are so amazing!!! That said, I have another suggestion for you. Well, five, to be exact! I will make these requests on Patreon as well. But, my request is essentially what is referred to as the "Twelve-step Suite" performed by the band Dream Theater. These are five songs across several albums by Dream Theater that, per Wikipedia "The lyrics to each song, written by the band's then-drummer Mike Portnoy, deal with his experience of alcoholism. Each song represents a certain number of the Twelve Steps. Various lyrical and musical themes run through the Suite. It was written by the band with the intention of eventually playing it live as one piece." The first song, "The Glass Prison" is a must for sure! The other songs are amazing as well and further progress the story and process of dealing with addiction!

The way James Labrie of Dream Theater delivers the line "I can feel my body shaking, I can feel my body breaking; I'm ready, to let it all go!!!" in "The Root of All Evil" gives me chills. Also on that album, and I should have put this on the pack playlist instead is "These Walls." Great song that explores social awkwardness.

I wonder how Amanda was going to react to this song. I know it for the fast pace playing and Herman Li's awesome guitar play and solo with Sam Totman. Loved the hair conditioner comment Amanda😂. I wonder if the hairspray bands are the major cause of are depleted ozone layer.😂 Good point about suffering, it makes us more empathetic of others, walk a mile in someone else's shoes so to speak, a human limitation is to know what it's like to go through suffering if we our self haven't experience it, and then that doesn't mean we would handle it in the same way. Tina S does an awesome guitar cover of this song. Even Herman Li said it was the best guitar cover of this song and has a video reviewing Tina S video.

This is a song about hard fought victory. Yes, you’re facing great evils and dangers, and yes it is bad. It’s not in ignorance of the difficulty of the past or the present that we press forward, but “for the life beyond the stars,” the life we fight through the turmoil of today to live. We fight through the evils of the day for the life beyond the suffering. It’s because of the suffering that the journey of this life carries its weight and beauty.

My beautiful sister. And everyone else out there who deals with mental health. At one point we can heal. My sister. At what point does the lens come off your personal thinking and it just becomes pure enjoyment of life again? I love you and everyone in life regardless of whether or not you have struggled mentally as I have. I know I've been there. I have attempted suicide. I have done 2 stints in a behavioral hospital. I've had and still do, a fantastic therapist. But I have gotten to the point with my mental health, where I have chosen to overcome. That's me. Not everyone. I am so inspired by your strength and everything that entails you, I just had that one question. To be clear on my therapist. He retired, but we still talk a couple of times a week

Hey can i recommend a few songs that have an embrace life vibe in its lyrics, it really helps me through tough times to have life affirming and strengthening music like through the fire and flames The patient by Tool: basically a song about bearing the pain, being patient and never giving up, i think it will really move you The patient lyrics: ''If there were no desire to heal The damaged and broken met along This tedious path I've chosen here I certainly would've walked away By now And I still may I still may Be patient Be patient Be patient'' Parabol+Parabola by Tool its basically a song about being away of your fleeting time and embracing the moment. some lyrics for Parabola: Twirling 'round with this familiar parable Spinning, weaving 'round each new experience Recognize this as a holy gift and Celebrate this chance to be alive and breathing A chance to be alive and breathing This body holding me reminds me of my own mortality Embrace this moment, remember We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion 'The Art of Dying' by Gojira and 'Silvera' the lyics that capture me The Art of Dying: '' I cannot stomach these forms and colors anymore But I'm here to continue, after all I have been through I try to keep my eyes open, I am realizing This life and death more precious than anything'' Silvera: ''Time to open your eyes to this genocide When you clear your mind you see it all You're receiving the gold of a better life When you change yourself, you change the world'' Architects - "when we were young" its a recent release and its a banger, some lyrics. ''When we were young We thought we had the whole world figured out Now all we do is speak in tongues We play a losing game Only now we hear the shouts fading out We flew into the sun Is there something in your eye? Did you fall or were you just on a high? Everybody's so afraid they could die But they never once said, "Thank God we're alive"

For the past couple of years I’ve felt like I’ve been at the bottom of a pit then I get a rope thrown down and I start to climb it and things start to get better but when I start to get to the top of the pit the rope snaps and I immediately fall back to the bottom. I’ve been fighting my entire life and I’ve always had to figure things out on my own and some of that is because when I would reach out for help I was either shoved aside because whoever I reached out to treated me like I was being a burden or I was shamed for being too sensitive. Thus coming to be in a position of either preferring to deal with things alone because either I’m a burden or no one cares to listen to my “whining”. I do have a couple people I can reach out to and I do but not very often because I don’t want to push them away by doing so.
@MentalAmanda

Here is the truth nobody tells you. We ALL fall down. Over and over. It's being able to live in the moments during the climb and the moments where you're at the top that makes life worth living. Because not a single person will be able to avoid their rope snapping countless times. You aren't a burden and you're not whining. You are a human with natural human thoughts and emotions.

My thought is this i dont know anyone who has a quote "perfect life" Im just guessing here but it may be that a person or animal has to live a lot of lifetimes to get one life that is problem free or relatively problem free, and it probably doesnt matter whether your rich or poor or what you have for its probably not based on any of that. its probably based on where we are individually in the bigger scheme of things, and where we are in our learning process of humanity I have had more than my fair share of bad things happening to me but do i believe im getting picked on by a god or gods?? No probably not!! The only thing that there is to blame is just my own inexperience at being a human, Looking at the people around me including my parents who have money and cars and houses, but are they completely happy?? No they still have problems, and obviously they have learned things that i havent yet, as i have learned things that they havent learned yet. Your an inspiration to me Amanda, and i will quote the Fates Warning song Pale Fire "Nothing can grow in the absence of desire, and no one can grow with nothing to inspire"!!! Have a good day my dear!!!

Weird fact: When this track was released the band couldn´t play the song. They had recorded it in small sections like 10-15 sec but they couldn´t get through the whole song so when their track took off thanks to GH they had big problems live.

Hey, hope all is well, I know a band you would absolutely love for their lyrics and just overall vibe, They're called Holding Absence and as someone who battles mental health myself, their music instantly connected with me a few years ago, and I've been obsessed since, Check out: Penance Celebration Song You Are Everything Permanent They're the songs I feel will hit you in the feels the most. Their songs are incredibly powerful on a lyric level, super raw and I think you'll dig them :)

They are amazing and have amazing hair I suppose, I still have the same short haircut almost marine standards, since I was 6, just how I roll. Was in the USMC. Though dragonforce is amazing, I’d take you hands down any day over them, cause well, you’re cuter. Like adorable. Anyways, you responded to one of my comments a bit ago, asking what I wanted and what now, I dunno honestly, doesn’t matter anyways, as the world will always do whatever the f if wants anyways, and I won’t get anything I want, all it is, is struggle and suffering, haha. How’s it’s been the last 35 years, lol, how it’ll always be, I’m only good for work, and providing, until I’m inconvenient and don’t give what others want, or need. I’m just a means to an end, to everyone, including my limited ’family’they only want things from me, emotionally, physically, financially. So cut them out too, so yeah, only me, haha. Same with my ex’s, from all over the US, different ages, upbringings, religions, doesn’t matter, people are all the same and only use you to their own benefit then discard you, when no longer beneficial enough. Epic song though and love it.

The world doesn't hand things to very many people. We don't "get" anything. We fight for it. I don't tolerate "that's how it has been and that is how it will be" because I turned things around after several decades. It doesn't HAVE to keep being the same way.

@@MentalAmanda oh I know, I worked and still do for everything I have/had. But my life shows doesn’t matter what you do, it’s what it is, lol. That’s all. You could be super awesome, smart, tough, good, doesn’t matter, you’re f’ed. with no hope of a decent family life, your blood, or with someone.
