I've never been what anyone would call an active listener to lyrics, so I never noticed that this was about getting cheated on. And this song is, what? 26 years old? You learn something new every day...

When you did the live stream the other day I tipped a few times. I requested Band Testament. Song Return to Serenity. I think you will enjoy it. The band created what we call a rock ballad. Tom is a legend. I grew up to his music. He did it just as well live on stage.

I remember when the song came out, MTV and radio stations did not like the 'roll another joint' line. The edit was 'hit another joint' and/or 'roll another (mumble)'. 'Free Fallin''' is my personal fave from Tom Petty. 'Runnin' down a Dream' is a great song too.

I should mention how he owned a house overlooking the ocean in a beautiful part of northern California where I used to live. My friend ran into him at the grocery store and reported that he was totally friendly and down to earth like you might have expected. Rather than quit when he broke his hip on his last tour he soldiered on with pain killers to finish like a hero, not realizing they would cost him his life. RIP Tom, you left us with so much good music !!

You Don’t Know How it Feels was released in 1994 on Tom’s second studio solo album, Wildflowers. On some releases of the song as a single, the artist was credited as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers instead of just Tom Petty solo. The song hit #98 on the Australian charts, #3 on the Canadian charts, #119 on the UK Charts, #13 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #22 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart, #8 on the American Top 40 and it hit #1 on the US A,bum Rock charts. Another great song that features harmonica is Mary Jane’s Last Dance by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I did watch the documentary "All We Are Saying" by Rosanna Arquette. She asked him about what it's like living on the road. He said it can be pretty lonely, because you're basically stuck in your hotel room, cause everyone wants to have a moment to speak with you. That's as close to feeling what it felt to be him, as I've ever felt. Everything is Vibration. He's still vibrating down the road, on a new journey. May it be a blessed one.
