out of the 3 big acapella basses (from Home Free, ptx and Voiceplay), Geoff is the one that "sounds" the deepest because of his thick resonant chest voice. he and Tim from Home Free have a very similar range, where Geoff can go one half note lower than Tim in chest voice, while Tim can go a bit higher in falsetto. they both have a similar range in the lowest part, where Tim uses growl technique and Geoff uses subharmonic technique. the ptx basses, both current and former, aren't as low as Tim and Geoff. but as for who the lowest bass singer out there actually is, well, that is Tim Storms. he has the world record of lowest note for a human being.

@@chrismorin1318 IMO while yes his voice is lower, he's not nearly as good a singer as the bass singers in HF, PTX, and VP. I'd much rather listen to a singer who's amazing, as opposed to one who's just deep.

Oh God, Tim Storms. I am one of the deepest bass singers around, but Tim Storms scares me, lol! My lowest note is a B -1 (an entire octave lower than Geoff's lowest note)... but Tim Storms with his G -7, um, yeah. He is one of the few people I have heard hit a clean chest note at D1.

@@vvoof2601 oh yeh, Tim Storms definitely doesn't have the prettiest bass voice out there. he's a good singer, no doubt. but lot of other basses out there with prettier voices than him. but there is no denying that he is the deepest bass singer, which is what G.O.T. was asking for :-)

Eli (ELLY - the bald guy) did long ago front a rock band and has a great high, gritty voice he can use. Listen to him in The Little Mermaid Medley where he sang a very mellow baritone, it's like a different person. He and Geoff are the secret weapons of VP, though Geoff is far better known. I'll agree with many of the guys below, you need to listen to their versions of The DragonBorn comes and the oogie boogie song, but a third one you need to listen to is their version of the Halo theme. It's fantastic. Finally, there is a 4th Acapella performer you should look at: - Peter Hollens. Start with his collaboration with Tim Foust from Home Free (edit) - 'The Misty Mountains', from The Hobbit. Peter, like voiceplay, also does a lot of Disney, particularly the villains (check out his 'Be Prepared' from the Lion King). Happy travels on your journey through the insanity that is Acapella! :)

i just stumbled across your first reaction to VP and came to see if you had done more, and hey look, you just posted! Lucky timing :D "Dragonborn Comes" is another fantastic video in a similar style/genre to this one (i.e. historical fantasy ish, costumes and badassery) but I definitely also recommend the Wicked or Little Mermaid medleys (for fantastic arrangements and really showing off their voices) and Dream On or Carry On Wayward Son (they do classic rock better than any other acapella group IMO, mostly because of Eli's rock-frontman vocals.) Oogie Boogie is absolutely fantastic, but it is really a showcase for the bass Geoff, and you're already impressed with him lol! I'd personally like to see you react to something that showcases the other voices a little more, but really everything they do is great so you basically can't go wrong.

It's always a good time for the Nightmare Before Christmas!! I've been waiting for you to react to this one since I saw your reaction to "My Mother Told Me" a few weeks ago. Loved this reaction of yours... You looked so overwhelmed that you kinda forgot to "burst in enthusiasm", not because you weren't enthusiastic, but because you were just totally absorbed. Am I wrong? 🙂 BTW, yes, we'd watch you reacting to the whole series from "Nightmare Before Christmas" ("This is Halloween", "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" and obviously "Oogie Boogie Song") even if we're nowhere near Christmas. The series is incredibly theatrical (to the point to be TOO MUCH so, for some people). And they show their humour and their incredible range of character voices... They also just put out their cover of "Dream On" by Aerosmith, and that's insane as well. 🙂 And you should give a chance to Geoff's solo channel, on which I'd start with "Far over the Misty Mountains cold". You won't regret it. 😁

Oh yes, we'll be there for ANY Voiceplay reactions from you, but we'll definitely be there for 'The Oogie Boogie Song!' And 'This is Halloween' too - they're a lot of fun, and you'll get to see their comedic-theatrical side. You'll also get to see two of their previous members in those two - Earl, the bearded 'surprise high tenor,' and J.None, the baritone-and-so-much-more who Cesar (Gammy Eye-Guy in this video) recently replaced. (Also check out 'Queen in Five Minutes' and Boybands In Five Minutes' from that era - two other Voiceplay big hitters.😊) Of their more recent stuff, can also highly recommend 'The Dragonborn Comes' from the Skyrim/Elder Scrolls game series, with guest singer Omar Cardona, and 'We Don't Talk About Bruno' from the 'Encanto' movie, with guest singer Ashley Diane.

One of the things that makes VP my fav acapella group is the vocal arrangement. Might be from more of a music perspective but a lot of their songs especially the newer ones is soooo crazy good. Inspires me to make music and see if I can incorporate some of their techniques as well. I saw that you checked out Baby Metal (i'm not a fan) but I suggest taking a look at Japanes Visual Kei (VK) rock bands as well. My favorite is the GazettE. They're more of a heavier sound. It doesn’t matter that it’s not Christmas, I would cheerfully listen to on the hottest day of the year. If you’re interested, Geoff has a video on TikTok where he does the very end of Oogie Boogie “raw”…no harmony vocals or vocal editing and it’s damn impressive! And I agree with all the suggestions to listen to Geoff’s solo channel. My personal favorite of his solo stuff is Sixteen Tons, closely followed by his newest, Ain’t No Sunshine. I am a die hard Voiceplay fan, I love PTX & Home Free too BUT what I enjoy most about Voiceplay is that they can be unpredictable in that they can do the theatrical music such as this, Oogie Boogie (my autistic son’s absolute fav of theirs), Dragonborn Comes, My mother told me, Friends on the other side or We Don’t talk about Bruno equally as well as they do covers of imagine dragons ‘warriors’, Aerosmith’s ‘dream on’ or even their boy bands in 5 mins cover. Definitely worth exploring more of their music 😊 if you ever played Halo their cover of that theme song is definitely worth a listen too. Enjoy 😊

Check out the online videos of Geoff talking about lower range. He himself says that he is a baritone, not a bass, and yet like you I think he has one of the deepest voices around. The secret? His command of the “fry”. Watch them to understand. Then try some Byzantine chant for basses that are astoundingly deep.

Recommendations for more VoicePlay: Dragonborn Comes, Queen in 5 Mins, Little Mermaid, Friends on the Other Side, and the criminally under-reacted to Daddy Sang Bass. Geoff Castellucci also has a solo channel! My favorites from him are Big Bad John, 16 Tons, House of the Rising Sun, and Blackbird. Enjoy the rabbit holes!

You need to stay in the Rabbit Hole there is so much good stuff to react to and don't forget Geoff has his own channel where he does solo work that will blow your mind too! I check out anything reactors do with VoicePlay and Geoff I don't care what time of year it's from.😊 I guess I'm a fanatic!🤩🤩🤩🤩

The theatricality is one of Voiceplay's tradmarks. All of their productions are awesome. Based on the first two reactions you've done, I think you'd like their cover of "The Dragonborn Comes" from Skyrim. But yeah: Oogie Boogie Song is one of their best. And as others have said: the Wicked Medley, and if you want to hear some great stripped down vocals - Can't Help Falling In Love. And Geoff's "solo" stuff is f*ckin' amazing too. Lots of content... and probably lots of subscribers. Like Pentatonix and Homefree, the people who love Voiceplay LOVE Voiceplay. Thanks for another great reaction.

Their Bass singer, Geoff Castelucci, has a cover of “Over Misty Mountains Cold” that is stunning! Other Bass singers have covered that song such as Home Free’s Tim Foust (love his version as well) but Geoff ties it together singing multiple parts as different characters and harmonizing with himself to create a truly exceptional video. He has other videos where he does a similar thing but Misty Mountains Cold is my favorite.

Deepest voice would be Tim Storms. Special machines can pick him up; humans? Not so much. There's a video where Avi met him--and proceeded to have some brief performance anxiety due to knowing Mr. Storms was in the audience!

You really need to see The Dragonborn Comes. Absolutely amazing and it highlights all their voices and Omar sings with and he is awesome. They you need to check out Geoff Castellucci videos. He and Tim Foust (Homefree) are amazing with the low bass. And yes, we would love to watch Oogie Boogie!! And an added note: Just sing by voiceplay has alot of singers that have collaberated with them and it includes Tim Foust!!

Voiceplay just put out a cover of Dream On by Aerosmith that is just fantastic. Geoff and Tim Foust from Home Free have pretty much the same bass range. Geoff just uses his lowest bass notes more often than Tim. The lowest bass I've heard though isn't part of these groups. His name is Tim Storm.

There might be basses who can hit lower notes than Geoff, but I haven’t heard one who can do it while matching the richness and smoothness of his voice. It’s a much a matter of quality as depth. And he has both in spades. Yes, check Oogie Boogie. It is definitely worth it.

He is definitely one of the deepest voices ever! He uses a lot of profanity, but I also love Corpse, also known as Corpse Husband. He sings E-Girls are Ruining My Life, Agoraphobia, and even Daywalker with Machine Gun Kelly, as well as being a gamer. Jacksepticeye discovered him.

Oh, yes, PLEASE react to Oogie Boogie. Was just watching a video today by David Larson, one of the people Geoff credits with showing him how to do very low notes using what is called 'subharmonic' technique. In that video, he (David) specifically gives a shout out to Geoff hitting an E1 at the very end of the Oogie Boogie song using subharmonics as the first 'commercially successful implementation of vocal subharmonics' ever. It's great to watch vocal coaches sit there stunned for a moment, and then immediately go back to hear his final note over and over as if to confirm to themselves what they've heard, and then just shake their head and murmur, "That's the lowest sound I've ever heard come out of a human mouth!" Some people react to the song without having watched the movie, and their it's fun to see their initial confusion as to why Santa Claus is being held prisoner is almost immediately overcome by their awe at Geoff's belting out not only those bassy low notes, but showing off an incredible upper range as well. And then there are reactors who start off by saying that Nightmare Before Christmas is one of their favorite movies and they are preparing themselves for disappointment because they can't imagine anyone making it better than the movie. Then by the end of video they have been blown away by the all-out theatrical reimagining of the song by Voiceplay, including all the members' ability to do 'character voices' while still giving outstanding vocal performances.

Love your enthusiasm!! How the heck did you not ever listen to this? I am always amazed by those last two amazing notes: that unbelievable long note from Eli, followed by Geoff’s incredible low d-i-i-i-e-e-e. If you are going to watch the cover of Dream On, you may want to check out the cover of Warriors first by Imagine Dragons. They both have a post apocalyptic feel. In Warriors Earl their prior tenor, and J, their prior baritone are present. I don’t know whether it’s true or not (but it sounds logical), but I have read that Geoff referred to Dream On as Warriors 2.0. The zombies came and snatched up Earl and J. Then they found Omar and Cesar wandering around looking lost, gathered them into the band and they’re ready to do a battle again in Dream On. If you’re a gamer you have got to do Dragonborn. I’m not a gamer at all, and I am obsessed not only with the music but the production values in that. I think Hoist the Colours is still my favorite but Dragonborn and Dream On come really really close. If your name refers to video games, you really need to check these guys out. They do quite a few video game themes. They have ACA top 10 video game themes, We’re Alive from Portal, Warriors from League of Legends tournament, Halo, and a Minecraft mini only about a minute long. I’m sure I’ve missed one or two because I don’t play video games but those are the ones I’m aware of.

My hometown Home Free has the deepest bass now: Tim. They came to sing for Christmas last year here. I had to get tickets immediately. The best I have seen in a long time. I love Voice Play (almost auditioned for them a few months back), but Home Free is one of my favorites. Along with Mitch from Pentantonix. I have all Home Free CDs, Pentantonix and Superfruit.

Yes, I'd love to see your reaction to Oogie Boogie it was the original Voice Play gateway video. I would also recommend watching one of their older videos the Little Mermaid Medley since it really shows off Layne's (beatboxer) sound effects, Geoff's (bass) range as Ursula, Rachel Potter as a guest, and an amazing arrangement that made me stop to laugh several times. The Dragonborn Comes is another great cover. Geoff also has many fun solo videos like 16 Tons and Blackbird.
