In the past 2 weeks XG's Left Right has debuted on 3 separate US radio top 40 charts making them the first female Japanese artists and first Japanese group to make the top 40 charts. The girls ages are between 17-21. They debuted last March with Tippy toes and 1st comeback was Mascara. Now with the most recent comeback Shooting Star and B-side Left Right. They're aiming for being a Global group so all official releases have been in English. They also have vocal covers (Vox 1-4) dance showcases (Move 1-4) and rap showcases (tape 1 and 2). They really started gaining popularity with Tape #2 when the youngest member Cocona who was 16 at the time went viral with her part on tape #2. They are going to be big so it's a good time to get caught up with everything

XG are a global group that does hip hop/r&b/pop. There are 7 members. 4 rappers and 3 vocalists. Though all of the rappers can also sing and they all dance. So I am sure you guys have heard of KPOP...so just like that concept you can think about XG as a group. Technically XG would be considered a JPOP GROUP as they are Japanese and from JAPAN. HOWEVER, their label does NOT promote them as a JPOP NOR KPOP group as they consider themselves a GLOBAL GROUP. They do promote in South Korea on the South Korean music award shows and stuff like that tho. Moreover, so far, all of their official songs have been released and sang in ONLY ENGLISH and they are inspired by heavy HIP HOP/R&B sound as it is confirmed. They even mentioned themselves how they are naturally inspired and influenced by many BLACK ARTISTS and they LOVE KEHLANI. They actually just met her when Kehlani performed in Seoul, South Korea a month or so ago. The girls were soooooo happy. Their music producer Simon Jakops who was in a kpop group as a Rapper/vocalist named DALMATION is an American Korean and also mixed with Japanese and Korean, confirmed that Kehlani is actually one of his and XG'S MAIN INFLUENCES to their sound in an insta post after they saw her in Seoul. Information about the group: Their name XG is an acronym for Xtraordinary Girls under the XGALX label under the popular AVEX COMPANY based in Tokyo, Japan. XG made their debut on March 18, 2022 with their 1st single/MV “Tippy Toes.” There are 7 members and below I will put their names and ages along w the time stamps so it can be easier for you to REMEMBER. Oh and btw their fandom name is ALPHAZ and they say that we are part of their pack! They said on Showterview Korean Variety show that they are Hip-Hop and R&B concept, 1990's, and inspired by Alliyah, Lauren Hill, TLC, etc. The Left Right costumes and camrea angles were very much 90's Y2K style, with a modern update. Interestingly, the other very popular Kpop 4th Gen Girl Group, "New Jeans" is also 90s R&B inspired, no hip hop though, just syntheiszer based melodies and updated, modern intros like on "Hype Boy", and "Attention". OMG is there curent big hit. They debuted in Summer of 2022.

@@chatnoir-i8x lol, of course NJ isn’t. But their 90s synth based, R&B rooted sound is part of the reason they are so popular right now IMO. Ador their HYBE parented agency and the 15 year vet exec from SM who created New Jeans concept, Min Hee-Jin, took that sound, updated it with modern intros, and created an accessible group with simple variable choreos, and social media blanket of PR. It sounds fresh for Kpop, which has gone recently (for GG) from Cute concept (Gfriend) to Girl Crush (Blackpink) to 4th Gen variable sing concepts ( Aespa, Itzy, Nmixx). XG is taking some of what New Jeans is doing, but making it much more polished in concept, dance, music, etc, because it’s working. Actually, they are contemporaries, and XG actually debut a few months before NJ last year. I like them both, for the music and the talent, then the concept.

@@KRapPsychic Let's be honest that XG isn't near any Kpop artists levelm. NJ is popular just because their songs were on 70 million subscribers channel and Kpop followers have been bored of Kpop being just any pop music but sounding a copy quality. But XG is from the small platform but now being discovered by the world and isn't only for Kpop circle. FYI, XGs Shooting Star was created way before XG debuted, even given to another group first. Their 90s 00s concept was there way before NJ as they were all inspired by those RnB artists. Also, Y2K style is just the worldwide phenomenon even Dua Lipa was wearing it before.
