From their 8th album, " Eliminator", from 1983, this is such a great lazy blues style number. This shows the versatility of Billy Gibbons better than any other track on the album. Gibbons soloing is augmented by the dominant bass of Dusty Hill. The drums so addictive and the vocals are absolutely perfect. Just a rockin tune. Great reaction Harri. 🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥 Thanks Harri and Neal. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Eliminator is so apt a title for that album, every track is killer; even before the lyrics mentioned a wolf howling, the opening guitar made me visualise that very thing, a lonely wolf howling in the night. Thanks to your reaction I have hunted the album, and I'm not sorry, every track is SO satisfying. ZZ Top are the epitome of cool. Another great reaction; Loved it.

This is a great song to ease the seat back to and go for a long drive in the rain late at night and just zone out. This and Rough Boy are good for that.

When this album dropped, it was like a weapons grade plutonium strike - so popular, even here, in England Everyone remembers 'Eliminator' for it's THREE famous singles - (all top-ten in the U.K) But for me, hands down, THIS track 'Need You Tonight' always was the best track on the entire album As it wasn't a 45rpm single, thankfully, it was never 'hacked to death' as so many famous tracks are Haven't heard this for many, many years & it brings back happy memories from a different (better) time Harri' = Thanks for reviewing it man !!

This shows that if course the front men are playing amazing but listen to the rocking drumming by frank beard!
@sarge9733

The drums are a machine, probably programmed by engineer Terry Manning. The bass isn't Dusty's playing either. It's a synth bass played on a keyboard. It's been well documented since that Frank and Dusty weren't even present during the making of this album, apart from the recording of Dusty's vocals for 'I Got the Six'.

Very sensual song, slow and sure. The whole package is driving animal magnetism. Yeah, the guitar work sounds like a plea then you savor that satisfying last note. I've always loved this one. For slower romance, try "Rough Boy", you will still get there. ☮️

That's my favorite song on the Eliminator album. Buddy Guy does a really good cover of this song. It's on the Heavy Love album. That whole album is good. I don't know if you've reacted to him, but you should. He's a blues legend. What Kind of Woman is This, is a good tune. Or Ninety Nine and one Half is another. They're on the Bring em In album.

I got acquainted with ZZ Top in the 1980s and back then I thought they were cool and liked their music. Later, I got more into soul, funk, hip hop and stuff and liked them less. Until I discovered their earlier material which is more groovy, and started to appreciate their later music more too. 😁

Yes I agree The 7th house which is the desire for a one-night stand, is the only house where Saturn the planet of animal instincts do pretty well. It is an air planet so is a time your breadth runs out of control and your longevity length gets several notches taken down. But we are willing to trade for that for the exhiliration and the music and beat of this song just bait us to want more. 9:19
