Rani Ki Vav Stepwell is one of the only surviving monuments of the medieval metropolis of Anahilapataka (modern day Patan) a long with the Sahasralinga Talav. Anahilapataka was a large circular city with a population of 150,000 at its peak during the 10th to 14th centuries. The circle wall encolosed an area of 5km2. At the very centre of the city was the Royal palace complex. The city had many other huge temples but none of its survives after the 14th century Turkic invasion.

Great visit, every state in India, has some magical epic construction. I am always in awe, just wondering how they would have constructed the temples, unfortunately, a lot of them were attacked by invaders (they say at least 100,000 temples).

Unfortunately distruction is big part of human history but despite that India still has some of the richest and most amazing cultural herritage in the world. It was amazing for me exploring the country!

Hello brother welcome to India🙏which country are you from? I'm an expat living in Chennai, South India, and I travel across the country already been to the coldest to the hottest parts of the country, personally I love the cold weather a lot. It is wonderful to see a foreigner having good knowledge about ancient Indian architecture unfortunately even many Indians don't have such knowledge

@lukearound wonderful to know. I am a huge fan of stipe miocic the former ufc heavyweight champion legend who's a Croatian by origin settled in Ohio USA also former ufc heavyweight legend mirko crocop. It's obvious since you're from a country with cold weather you like hot climate but I've been living in hot to very hot places most of my life so obviously I like the cold weather a lot specifically my most favorite places are all the high altitude hill stations in the south along with Uttrakand,Jammukashmir,Himachal Pradesh and in the norh east sikkim, meghalaya,Nagaland, mizoram

@Chris-vt6nl Ohh Stipe hahah. Yes he is quite famous around the world. And from colder places in India I wanted to visit Leh in the north but at the end I didnt manage to fit it in this years tour so will probably visit next time I visit India. But thank you for the cities you mentioned, I will look into them. Best recomendations always come from locals ofcourse. 😎

@@lukearound leh is an amazing place but in winter it gets extremely cold with temperatures plunging to negative 20's or 30's. It's a vast snow desert in winter but it would feel like visting some unknown planet giving a once in a lifetime experience. The best way to go there is by renting a motor bike during summer where the conditions are most suitable to travel. I am right now in Chennai and will be traveling to himachal pradesh next month because this year it is predicted that summer in Chennai will be much hotter than last year

@lukearound yah I don't know why this is soo underrated ,if it is in Europe or usa it will be declared 8th wonder ,it's more impressive than petra and other stuff imagine cutting a mountain from up to down with otherworldly sculpture and if you do one mistake the whole thing will be messed up.this is not possible without understanding of good mathematics and science

@@bg53rockylayek4 Yeah when I started planing my India tour and found Rani Ki Vav and saw how it looks like I couldnt believe it isnt a well known place. I mean if you look at it arhitecturaly it is super impressive especially considering the period when it was built.
