Hi, Cherie!Hello from China! This video is definitely underrated. It's so detailed and helpful. Looking forward to more travel vlogs!

Thanks heaps for your comment Leah :) I'm keen to explore more of China too when I get the chance and hopefully return to Nanjing one day and see all the sights I skipped because I couldn't walk haha

@@cherie.diaries hahaha, trust me, I know how it feels when your legs were broken and every step took a lot of effort. Traveling is physically demanding especially when you want to explore more. Hopefully next time you visit Nanjing, you would walk like the wind. hahaha

Hi Cherie, thank you for sharing the detail of your trip. My friends asking me to bring them to Nanjing bc they want to visit the Niu Sou Shan Temple (I'm a tour leader, but mostly in countries that use English, so I'm learning what else to see while traveling to Nanjing). Is it possible to only use all public transportation while moving from 1 spot to other spot? And can the ppl there speak English or at least we have to know Mandarin? TIA♥
@cherie.diariesАй бұрын
Hi Elly, my overall experience with getting around in Nanjing is that the public transport system is very well-established and can get you where you need to be with a mix of metros and busses. For Niushoushan, it looks like it can be reached via Metro number line 1 (Tianlongsi Station) then the No. 712 or 755 bus to Niushoushan. I recommend downloading Baidu Maps or Gaode Maps to navigate in China. Re. English, I wouldn't expect much of the population to be able to converse in fluent English with you (the English taught in China focuses more on written fluency) but you'll have better chances with younger people. It's best to learn a few basic phrases and have a translator app handy. Much of the signage on public transport, etc. though will also come in English.

Hey Cherie! I just watched this whole video and will be watching more! I am from the USA but will be studying at Nanjing normal university and this video was so helpful!

Oh I'm glad to hear that and hope you have a great time! There's so much to explore in Nanjing itself but it's also close to other cities like Shanghai so you'll have lots to do when you're not studying :D

Hi. Nice video. How many days, would you say, is the ideal number of days to stay in Nanjing? Provided you have the time and money. And, what's the name of that hotel?
@cherie.diaries Жыл бұрын
Good question! I think three days two nights for a first visit would be the sweet spot. In addition to the attractions I visited in the video, you can also check out Jiming Temple, go for a walk on the city wall, spend more time exploring the attractions and views at Purple Mountain (Xuanwu Lake is at the foot of the mountain and some other sights are there which I didn’t visit such as a pagoda). Three days should be enough to cover these attractions at a leisurely pace. The hotel I stayed at: Atour Hotel Confucius Temple 南京夫子庙亚朵酒店 Hope this helps!

@@angelguevara9241 no problem! Nanjing is pretty close to other cities that I think are worth exploring: Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou. Feel free to ask me if you have any other questions!

Great. Thank you. Yes, the plan is to go to Suzhou, then Zhouzhuang ancient town, then Nanjing, and then back to our city.@@cherie.diaries

Hi Cherie! Really useful and fun video to watch! Can I know what time of the year you visited Nanjing? I’m travelling there in mid October this year (also visiting Shanghai and Suzhou as well) and am wondering what the weather will be like during that time!
@cherie.diaries5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment! I visited in mid-September, the weather was still hot and humid (in all three cities you mentioned) but in October autumn will have really set in so expect low 20s °C :)

Hey Cherie, nice video! Very informative. Just quick question. Where can I find the bus tour stop? Also, I’m bringing my elderly parents and they don’t have WeChat or Alipay. Do you know if I can book museum tickets and pay for their metro as well using my WeChat or Alipay?
@cherie.diaries9 ай бұрын
The museum you can book for a group of people at once :) however, the virtual metro card through Alipay and Wechat works like a physical card so I’d assume you can only tap on and off for one person at a time. I’ll have a look for the tour information and send it to you but just double checking you are wondering about the Zhongshan Mountain/Purple Mountain area hop on and off busses? ☺️
@angelvonne9 ай бұрын
@@cherie.diaries oh, I didn’t know if the hop on and off bus have specific areas. I thought it may be a daily pass thing that offers unlimited ride so was thinking if I can just find the map to see all the stops.. also, I don’t think I can book as a foreigner as on the official website, seems like I must have a local number (which I don’t) … so I’m like clueless now as how to book, so have to bring my elderly parents and try our luck to register on the spot
@cherie.diaries9 ай бұрын
@@angelvonne hmmmm I’m going to have a further look into this and get back to you :) for completeness the hop on hop off busses are for a really large scenic area within Nanjing, I’ll see if I can find some information in English for you!
