Loy Krathong Festival in Sukhothai is considered the oldest because it is the origin of the Loy Krathong tradition. From the reign of King Ramkhamhaeng, Sukhothai era. A woman named Nang Noppamas is who invented the lotus flower krathong.

Thai pepple did not eat insects 30 years ago. That time farmers had huge problem with too many insects, mostly grasshoppers, attacking their crops. They could catch them but didn't know what to do to get rid of them and they kept coming back more and more. One farmer got angry and fried them to eat and they tasted good. Words started spreading out and we never had problem with insects anymore.

Hey Mickey. I really enjoyed watching this video from Sukhothai and Loy Kratong. I was almost crying watching you making a wish and I hope we both had the same wish. I`ve been watching a lot of your videos to get some ideas where to go and what to see in Thailand. Me and my Thai girlfriend were in Sukhothai in February 2020. We`ll be travelling to Thailand again in January 2023 and travel around for two months. We are both looking forward to new adventures in Thailand. This will be my 6`th time visiting Thailand. The first capital of Thailand. "Sukhothai" means "dawn of happiness". Loy krathong festival originated from Sukhothai . Sukhothai is the original classic Thai art. I love Sukothai.

Loy Krathong was not born in Sukhothai and is not unique to Thailand. It's a tradition shared by many countries.Loy Krathong is a tradition that the Sukhothai Royal Court values.

I have to admit,vlogers like you are doing an amazing job showing different parts of Thailand unknown to most tourists,even some Thais, simply goes to prove TAT isn't doing enough to promote Thailand or give Thailand the exposure it deserves. All most tourists know of is Bangkok ,Pattaya and Chiang Mai and the islands. TAT Could certainly learn a thing or two from you,give you some recognition and also work with you to promote Thai tourism ✌️
