Sometimes when current Kpop groups cover their songs, or when variety show imitate 2NE1 concepts, or whenever 2 of the 4 members would show up in a variety show or collaborate the group trends on Twitter or Naver. Blackjacks (2NE1 fandom) recently created a “Funwar” with Girls Generation's SONES and trended in Asia to revive 2nd Gen girl group legends. Blackjacks are loyal up to this day. 😉

2NE1 gave a different flavor to KPop. Their discography is considered one of the most versatile out there. From I AM THE BEST to LONELY to UGLY to COME BACK HOME. It's a journey and every song they release is different and a hit. You can say it simply as Twenty One or To Anyone. Speaking of Lady Gaga, it was said that she invited/offered Teddy to be one of her producers but Teddy declined bec he wanted to work with 2NE1. In terms of success other than Korea, girl groups did better back then, 2NE1 got much much higher on BBHot200 compared to Bigbang and Girls Generation expanded the K-pop market to Japan, which was very important. Most OG is obviously Seo Taji and the Boys, their vibe, their authenticity, rebellious nature of singing this style that was so unorthodox in conservative early 90s Korea

Hey there! I just came to watch youre reaction and we really appreciate it. I cant say im a true fan but ive been a fan and will always be their fan. This is like one of the most solid group I've ever witnessed in Kpop history. Their firendship how they look out for each other. If you have the time, you can watch their last performance in mama 2015. That performance was their last and really an emotional one, i believe not only for me but for all blackjacks. CL, was the only one invited to perform, and nobody knew that the other members would appear not even the staff and they did not rehearse. Its really sad. It was a time when Bom's scandal(not even true) was on going and shes not allowed to go out and perform on stage, but they performed that night. One last night. Its was great and one of the best performance ive ever watched.

I became a Blackjack after 2NE1 disbanded, and it always makes me feel sad that they were deep freezed by YG Ent. during the height of their popularity, and after Minzy left the group was just ignored until Park Bom and then CL eventually departed the company. Only Dara stayed but was given another position, but I heard she also left recently. 2NE1 was mentioned along with SNSD as one of the top GG in the 2nd Generation, so to see them ended up like this is depressing. Thankfully all the members eventually found success outside YG Ent. (except Minzy, but she left another lousy company so it's a plus).

2NE1 is pronounced almost like the number 21 (twenty one, two n e one) and PSY is just psy, like a word, not really an acronym (at least they pronounce it like that in Korea). You have a lot of iconic kpop songs from this era of kpop to check out, most of them are those that "if you are a kpop fan and you don't know them, are you really a kpop fan?" Jsjsj I have a yt playlist called Iconic Kpop that includes most of those songs and it's not because I like them but because they're funny 😂 Back to the present, BTS' new Japanese album is out and I'd love if you could check out Your Eyes Tell, Jungkook (the youngest member) produced and wrote it (initially for his mixtape but then it was chosen as the OST for a Japanese movie) 💜
