WHY THEY'RE CALLED KINGS🤴 1. They're still running in the Kpop since 2006. So many scandals yet they're still standing on the stage. Performing. Hitting #1s on korean music streams without promotion or music videos published. 2. They're one of the Kpop groups who go international first. They spread the Hallyu wave all over the world. It's even impressive because internet is not really popular before, but that didn't stop them for being a star. Times, Grammy's, KCA, MTV, Billboards, etc. 3. BIGBANG helped introduce EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and Rap. Before, it was mainly R&B, Ballad, and Pop. 4. They broke the stereotypes. Before BIGBANG, every idols in a boy group were seen as robotic, flower/ boy style and with synchronized dancing and singing. 5. Idols were never considered as artists before with lyricism and production. They even influenced Kpop artists of today to compose their own. 6. They're the celebrity of celebrities. Most people adore and are a fan of them. Kpop groups, actors, politicians etc. Mostly from Kpop industry. They're inspired and influenced by them. 7. The SONGS. BIGBANG doesn't create just create catchy songs, Some songs, the lyricism is so magnificent. They're meaningful and filled with emotions you want to feel. 8. Their stage presence. No one can beat their stage presence. The stage is powerful once they're performing. Every performance are eye catching. No lipsync required. All songs live. 9. BIGBANG saved YG Entertainment. YG Entertainment before BIGBANG is just a small company. But BIGBANG were struggling for food to eat because they don't have enough money and GDragon composes a song every night. But all the hardships are worth it. 10. Most fans don't idolized them because of looks, just pure talent. They were even called the "ugliest Kpop boy group" back in the days they were debuted. But people don't care for it, because the talent wins. 11. They're the first to use lightstick. Well before it was called "glowstick". Before it was just balloons and color to identify Kpop groups. 12. They popularized EPs or Mini Albums. It started when they drop their album “Always” and with the hit song “Lies”. That's why they're unbeatable. We can say, they're so many Kpop groups who are popular these days, but BIGBANG are untouchable. No one can imitate or copy beside themselves. when it comes to BB(bigbang) dont expect to hear normal transitions of parts on their songs. i mean, their weird and sudden music transitions on their songs is what sets them apart form the average kpop. it was very surprising as well that BB can pull off that kind of style that no one could ever pulloff as they do. also when u notice BB, blackpink, ikon, & 2ne1(not sure if you’ve reacted to them, u should) they all have the unique beat changes and transitions on their songs thats cause they are all from the same agency called yg & that its mainly because of the influence of their main producer teddy who is a well known producer in korea. also in yg, BB is the first band that they produced followed by 2ne1 who belonged to the 2nd generation idols (or what we call OG idols) and the rest of the group such as blackpink, ikon, etc belong to the 3rd gen idols (btw this concept of 2nd, 3rd gen idols applies to all kpop group depending on their year of debut) its not just because BB is an OG group that u find them different from the recent kpop that u hear today but its just really their style even before when they just debuted. u wont really find any other group that do music the same as they do. we usually call their music style YG style cause only artists from their agency does that type of music. as u watch more of their music and the groups that are under YG you’ll understand what i am talking about.

I’m a 42 year old white dude living in Japan and I absolutely love BIGBANG. I’ve seen them in concert 4 times. I’ve been listening to Kpop since the 90’s. I can’t believe it’s almost been 15 years since BB took over the show. There are a lot of musical geniuses like the CEO of YG himself, former member of Seo Taiji and the Boys, (Seo Taiji is a legend in his own right) Jinusean, 1TYM and Seven. Teddy Park and Danny Im (Teabin) have had a large hand in BB production. Just to name a few. They’ve worked side by side with 2NE1 as well. YG is a family that supports each other and BIGBANG is the jewel that was produced in 2006 from 10 years of sweat, blood and tears from YG. And they aren’t finished yet. There is more to come.

When you think about it, in classical music, there is a piece of music calls sonata and sonatinen, which is composed of several parts like allegro, andante, moderato, 1st movements, 2nd movements, etc, and each part might have different harmony and melody altogether. So historically, it is not that weird for a piece of music to have parts that are wildly different. It is just, modern music tends to be short and to the point with clear pattern. With classical music, each part stands independetly from each other. However, because of how short modern music comparably, it becomes a mash-up. It is tricky, since the song needs to have a unifying them so it does not become a frankenstein of a music piece.
