BoA is the ultimate Idol of Idols. BoA's talents are unmatched. This is why SM selected her to become a trainee when she was 11 or 12 and why she debuted when she was only 13 years old, because she is so amazing. BoA is one of the originals in the Kpop industry and one of the first to do almost everything, and she did it all as a solo artist without the help or support of a group. Can you believe that BoA debuted in 2000? -- which means she has been in the industry for more than 21 years now and she is only 35 years old. :D She was one of the youngest artists in the industry when she debuted and she is now one of SM's longest held artists. She started under SM and is still represented by SM. So she has been in the industry for more than two decades, and, yet, she is still younger than a lot of artists who have come after her. That's how much of a legend she is. :D It is no surprise that you are impressed by BoA's vocals and dancing because, as an SM artist, that is just what you should expect. Her amazing vocals are one of the reasons why SM is now known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry and its her dance skills that really started SM being recognized for having some of the best dancers in Kpop. BoA is a hired assassin and she was dancing in the subway to get the guy's attention and to be able to get close to him. He let his guard down and left himself vulnerable which is when she took the opportunity to kill him and walk away. However, we find out that the man was perhaps daydreaming and he wakes up and stumbles on home realizing what just happened wasn't real. (Fun fact: BoA wrote the lyrics for this song.) She is an OG of OGs. There is almost nothing she can't do. Everyone regards her as more than just an Idol, she is so well respected that she is a mentor to most Idols in the industry. She is even a member of SM's board of directors and she is now in charge of the health and mental well-being of SM's artists. BoA was the one who paved the way for Kpop artists in the Japanese market and she is the reason why Kpop groups and artists now produce songs in Japanese. She was one of the very first Korean Idols to focus on learning Japanese with the goal of bringing the Kpop industry to Japan. She is now one of the top selling artist in Japan, paving the way for other SM artists, like TVXQ and SHINee, to become superstars in Japan as well. She was one of the first Kpop stars to release an English album in America. Her English song "Eat You Up" was pretty popular and even made it on the American music charts. She was one of the first Kpop artists to chart in the U.S. -- the song actually was played on some mainstream U.S. radio stations. Over the years she has become pretty good at English and she is mostly fluent now. Fun fact: In Taemin's song "Idea" the female voice you hear saying, "Killing me softly" is BoA. She also is the one that produced everything to do with aespa's "Dreams Come True" remake project. And her legendary status and skills are why she was included in "GOT the Beat 'Step Back'". (After all, the whole reason why the group is called GOT -- Girls On Top -- is because it's referencing one of BoA's iconic songs "Girls On Top." BoA is the original girl on top of everything.) Better was a 2020 video and BoA was 33 years old at that time. In an interview she said that she had been on hiatus sevaral years, doing some TV shows and other stuff, and she was afraid to dance with so younger partners in this video, but as always she mastered it. Edit: Sorry, I was quite wrong with the hiatus time. "Woman" was released in 2018 and "Feedback" was released in 2019. There were also other japanese releases I missed in between.
