Korn and deftones toured alot together back in the 90’s. Since you listend to the first korn album, im definitely sure you’ll get something out of the second album, Life is Peachy. Its even more visceral than the first. Slipknot, Deftones and Korns first two albums were able to strike the right notes of so many feelings that me and so many others had growing up. When nothing else could explain or relate to how you feel, music always does. These albums are a testament to that ability. Im really glad you’ve decided to journey into something like this and take a look into a much different time in music. If you had a patreon for recommending albums, id probably be one of the top donators. Because when it comes to someone deciding look into genres like these, im all about supporting that :)

Truly one of the most unique, and original bands of all time with a sound unlike any other. Keep on going down the deftones hole and your mind is gonna be blown by their next albums. This is the only pure nu metal record they made.

Deftones are a special band. I was lucky enough to see them live touring for this album back in 97. Been a fan ever since. Seen them live at least 20 times. Enjoy the journey because if you go through their albums you will for sure go on one.

This was their debut album, they were still trying to find their sound and that's mostly why the whole thing is so all over the place... Couple years later they released their second album "Around The Fur" and that's arguably one of their best!

This being their first album I think they really showcased their sound and starting it off with bored is so good. The feels I don't know I believe bored is their best song. Fist is also so underrated and a great album finisher.

The jump in quality of all of their albums after Adrenaline is crazy. You can definitely hear bits of the band they would become here, but they really start hammering out classics after this. My favorite album is probably Koi No Yokan, but honestly their discography is all uphill from here.

Adrenaline was pretty much the best album during the first half of the 90s, along with the first album from Rage Against the Machine. They both had that raw energy that was pretty new and unique at the time.

Fireal and Fist show something more experimental, and in their next albums they will go deeper. I read somewhere that deftones do something like "violent melancholy". I think that defines them very well, you will notice it when you go into their discography
