XG is not a KPOP group. XGALX is owned by AVEX, one of the top Japanese entertainment corporation. XG is based in South Korea primarily for promotion only, but they have never been a KPop group. Simon their producer and AVEX CEO Katsumi Kuriowa mentioned this already in separate interviews.

Kpop is good but has a lot more filler and constructs forced in to it which is no dig at any artists, its just the way it works in the industry. With XG the company was built around them and grew with them and they are putting all effort in to staying out of the ordinary or usual constructs or concepts and music structures that kpop and jpop have, making them different in every way. I wish kpop was more like what XG is offering us now. Again no dig at any artists, they cannot help it either, it is the way it is. Glad you found XG and I hope you continue with the desire to learn about XG and Kpop. IMO you may want to consider putting the M/V in smaller screen in the corner so you don't cover 1/2 the M/V...If you dive into earlier XG (RAP) there are some that have english/japanes/korean in them. EX: Tape#2 do not attempt to use CC, you have to find a color coded or XG does have it split up and subbed performance videos for it. For the most part though 90% is in all english.

Xg has many great songs. Most people’s top songs are Their debut song tippy toes - shooting star - left right -woke up - undefeated - xg cypher 2, 4& 5 There is many more which others will recommend as well. But what I found is a lot of hip pop and rnb lovers gravitate more to these songs I mention above. But those aren’t the only good songs XG has done man but there are so versatile they will keep you on your toes.

Bro just a gentle suggestion: try not to talk over the video because you miss a lot of the nuances, and turn on the English subs going forward. But yes you’re correct there is a nod not only to Princess Mononoke but to Hayao Miyazaki and other Classics like Howls Moving Castle and Spirites Away as well as Michael Jackson references and as you said, The Matrix. XG is more of a gray area to me to be honest, because they are K-pop but the girls are all Japanese not Korean and they sing and rap in English, unlike the majority of K-pop that combine Korean and English. I would recommend Stray Kids for K-pop.
