KoRn has so many songs to choose from. Some of my faves are Blind, Shoots and Ladders, Good God, ADIDAS, Freak on a Leash, Gpt the Life, Dead Bodies Everywhere, Falling Away from Me, Trash, Somebody Someone, Twisted Transistor, Did My Time, Right Now, Everything I’ve Known and their cover of Another Brick in the Wall.

All bangers. Also sounds like a set list. I saw them once live and I sware I didnt realize how many of their songs I actually knew. That was until I wasnt able to talk after blowing out my voice singing the whole damn show.

Korn is a band. I'm so glad I found back in 2008, they've been helping me when I need to release my emotions. Definitely check out "Blind" & "Clown", "The Darkness Is Revealing", "Surrender To Failure" and there's so many more songs to react to 🖤🤘

Just a warning I would avoid their song "Daddy" early on in your listening journey with Korn as the topic, and substance of the song is extremely traumatizing for some. However It details a major event in Jonathan's life. They're an amazing band! "Open up" is one of my personal favorite Korn songs.

I wouldn’t say avoid it even though it does have extreme dark subject matter and it definitely can be triggering to some people, but if she chooses to do it, then I think she should. And if she does, maybe she could put out a warning for the subject matter as well.

KoRn launched in 1994 and was perfect for the 90's after the end of Nirvana... they fused 80's rock and 90's hip hop to create a lethal delivery w/ lyrics about alienation, abuse, death of childhood innocence, angst... courtesy of lead singer Jonathan Davis. 'Coming undone' was a big single in 2005, but it came at a strange time for KoRn... their founding guitarist and primary composer Brian 'Head' Welch had quit the band, so KoRn did this album ('See you on the other side') w/ 1 guitarist (James 'Munky' Shaffer) and outside songwriters & producers... It was also the last KoRn album recorded w/ original drummer David Silveria; he was eventually replaced by drummer Ray Luzier. When KoRn got together in the early 90's, they soon signed w/ Immortal Records and released their debut self-titled album in 1994... w/ Jonathan Davis (vocals/ bagpipes), Brian 'Head' Welch & James 'Munky' Shaffer (guitars), Reggie 'Fieldy' Arvizu (bass) and David Silveria (drums). By 1995, MTV started airing their music videos for 'Blind'... 'Clown'... and 'Shoots and ladders'... and the album reached gold sales (half million copies) in the US... 2nd album 'Life is peachy' in 1996 was a darker, more hardcore record... charted in US top 5 and went gold even faster than the debut album w/ only 1 MTV video - 'A.D.I.D.A.S.' 1998 was the year of KoRn... already touted as the biggest new band, 3rd album 'Follow the leader' hit #1 on the US charts and sold 5x platinum in the US and 14 million copies worldwide... it featured guest rappers Ice Cube and Tre Hardison (Pharcyde) as well as Cheech & Chong... 2 huge singles ("Freak on a leash" and 'Got the life') made KoRn a massive rock band. 1999 saw the 4th album 'Issues' hit #1 as well and sold 3x platinum. Unfortunately, drug and alcohol abuse was making life in KoRn rather difficult by then, despite the massive success... 'Untouchables' was another hit album in 2002... the singles 'Here to stay'... 'Thoughtless'... 'Alone I break'... were on this record. KoRn also released the single 'Did my time' to promote Angelina Jolie's movie 'Tomb Raider'... 2003 brought a heavier record 'Take a look in the mirror'... the single being the ironic "Y'all want a single"... After a 2004 'Greatest hits' album which had a cover 'Word up' (originally by Cameo)... Guitarist Head left the band to pursue his newfound Christian faith and stay sober while raising his daughter. KoRn refused to replace him and enlisted touring members. After the 2006 departure of David Silveria, KoRn recorded 'Untitled' (2007) as a trio w/ session players and did an 'MTV Unplugged' session ... Still popular, the album sold decently... but KoRn's stature was diminishing, and the sound had changed quite a bit w/ outside producers and songwriters. Ray Luzier joined on drums as a touring member but signed on as a full-time member by 2009... Korn released 'Remember who you are' (2009) which was a heavier album... and then 'The path of totality' (2011) w/ dubstep artists - it became KoRn's electronic music album. After years apart, Brian 'Head' Welch (guitar) returned to KoRn in 2013 for the album 'The Paradigm shift' which marked KoRn's return to musical form...followed by 'The Serenity of suffering' (2016)... Singles like 'Never never'... 'Insane'... 'Rotting in vain' ... were fairly successful. 'The Nothing' album in 2019 was written after Jonathan Davis' estranged wife Deven had passed away... After the covid-19 lockdowns, KoRn released the album 'Requiem' in 2022.

Like most big groups, Korn’s best music was their first 5 albums. This stuff is ok.. Korn, Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Issues and Untouchables were absolute fire. That said, “Did My Time” has one of the coolest and most crushing riffs I’ve ever heard in Nu Metal or any genre, really.

From Korn, I would recommend "Freak on a Leash", "A.D.I.D.A.S", "Shoots and Ladders", "Blind", "Got the Life" and "Falling Away From Me". And, at least for now, ignore the song "Daddy", if you are a more sensitive person. For a person like you, who was introduced to this band very recently, this song can be so much heavy, in terms of lyrics and story. I would recommend to just avoid this song until you get used to their music. But do what you want, if think you can listen to it, okay.

While Korn is an amazing band, I think some of Johnathan's best work is in his sirius radio appearances singing songs off the Queen of the Damned soundtrack which he wrote the music for but because of contractual problems couldn't sing them for the soundtrack himself. We did get an absolutely stellar line up of artists who covered them for the soundtrack though and would highly recommend listening to the soundtrack. In terms of Korn specific songs, most people would tell you to steer clear of Daddy but Jonathan wrote that song for an important reason and if people find it hard to listen to, that is a good thing, maybe it helps to develop empathy. Falling away is another song that deals with a difficult subject in a respectful way. I mean Korn's music was about confronting the realities of what teens and young people face but often can't or won't talk about. If you skip their darker themed songs, you'll never get a proper understanding of why so many high schoolers and teenagers loved Korn back in the day.

There are so many good songs by Korn, but I’m really eager for you to listen to daddy. It has very tough subject matter that could be triggering to some people which I highly suggest researching a little bit about the song before if you choose to react to the song. But it’s such a powerful, sad, but beautiful song and I highly recommend it if you choose to.
