Being an empath I knew I had to see your reaction to this one she is the most emotional singer I have ever seen in my life and I have seen alot of singers in my years I had the great oppurtunity to see Lara in concert one time and I left just drained emotionally but in a good way. I hope you do a few more of her songs because I promise you that she never dissapoints. One of the songs she does is called "Broken Vow" and it is in english and very powerful as well. Keep up the great work.

Many thanks to you, for reviewing this piece properly...at the beginning, there is an interesting view into Lara..an interview clip, that sets up the whole of this roller-coaster ride ,intense, video!! It is an old song,from the 70's, made new in a concert that she did in ,Montreal, in 1999! live!! And at the end, to see Lara, working her way back out of character,that she portrayed so well..is all part of truly appreciating this piece!! Most reviewers,cut it of, when the song ends.. For any performer.. That act is very disrespectful...YOU... waited ,and respected the full performance!! KUDOS!!! Thanks again! 🎶🤙🐺🧙‍♂️🦊👍🎶

Very nice reaction - please do yourself a favor...........listen and watch more Lara Fabian --- she is absolutely incredible .........she LIVES each song like no other - she is an unequaled storyteller who invites each member of an audience to join her in the journey any given composer tells - her vocal range is astonishing - she possesses a resonance that is on a level above - she is the ULTIMATE ARTIST ( and by the way....she has recorded in TWELVE languages and writes a good deal of the songs she sings.......no mean task )

Lara Fabian puts her heart and soul into every song she sings. She's one of the best voices and one of the best story tellers there is. She's also an actress, sings in multiple languages, and is also very humble and has a wonderful kindness to her. Sounds familiar? Is there any question why her decades long career has been inspiring the next generation of singers such as Dimash, Floor Jansen and Diana Ankudinova? Dimash covered several of her songs such as Adagio, Mademoiselle Hyde, Love is like a dream, etc, and sang with her several songs. I highly recommend your next song to be an English one, "Broken Vow", a song written by Lara Fabian and that has been a staple of singing competitions throughout the world: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fH-5g2OvgJ14mZo

Love Is Like A Dream is Alla Pugacheva’ song. You probably mean Love Of Tired Swans.
@ericsicard910
@ericsicard910 Жыл бұрын
Dimash covered adagio, Mademoiselle Hyde, love of tired swans, all songs that she wrote. She also wrote the lyrics of Your Love for him. He also covered Know from her but this was a pure vocalization with Lara and lyrics were added for Dimash. Love is like a dream is not a song from Lara, she covered it then later Dimash covered it as well. Broken Vow is a gem indeed and it was covered by the greatests: Barbra Streisand, Josh Groban, Regine Velasquez, Morissette Amon, Katrina Velarde, Julie Anne San Jose, Cakra Khan, Rimar, Almira (4th Impact), Sara Geronimo, … But the original that she wrote based on her own story has no equivalence.

I was so thrilled to see that you had reacted to this. You have already reacted to a song that she wrote Adagio, she contacted Dimash after his performance and complemented his performance. Lara is wonderful, if you want to see an absolutely beautiful performance visually and vocally, Ti Amo Cosi a trio performed by Aida Garifullina, Lara Fabian and Dimash, the interaction between Lara and Dimash is precious, Lara performed many of Igor Krutoy’s songs and now Dimash performs them , you can definitely see her influence on Dimash’s performance style, display and emotion. This is going to be so much fun ❤, Yay super excited Debbie, thank you.

In most cases, Lara didn’t "perform Igor’s songs », she in fact co-created these with him, writing stunning lyrics, and she is the original singer. Often the song subject and mood was inspired by Lara. He said from her she is the best singer and best songwriter he ever collaborated with.

Lara can sing in multiple languages so here are some other songs to listen to: Caruso & Perdere amor (Italian) Adagio, You’re Not From Here, Broken Vow (English) Je T’aime and a duet with Johnny Halliday “Requiem por un Fou” (9/11/98 Stade de France version) (French) Quedate (Spanish). Always choose her live performances to react to. I’m sure @Eric Sicard will see this and provide you with LOTS of information about Lara. BTW, I think you reacted to Dimash doing Adagio but Lara wrote this piece and was the original singer.

Lara as in faraway. Lara Fabian is Dimash’s all time idol and example, and you will see the comparisons, as she is as exceptional as he is. She has one song where the audience takes over and sings her song with the same pianist. When he sang with her, Ti Amo Cosi, at Igor Krutoy’s 65th Anniversary Celebration, it was his childhood dream come true.

Debbie, you are one of the very few reactors that have watched to the very end, when Lara finally sheds the Character and shakes her head, then covers her mouth in disbelief. Thank you for that. I have watched this video numerous times with and without reactors and Lara's performance pulls at my heart just like it does everyone else. I am just happy that I wasn't in the audience, because I would have wanted to give her a big hug and tell her that not all men are jerks. Now, here's the goofy part. Lara didn't write this song, even though you might think so from the emotion. Actually, if you look it up, it was written by a man. I am afraid I don't recall his name... And once again, I am VERY glad you watched and reacted to this video, have a blessed week ahead.

More information on Lara Fabian: Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, .... In my personal opinion, she is even the best. There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register. So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence: • she speaks 2 languages natively (french, italian), and 2 others fluently (english, spanish), can speak a bit of dutch (and sicilian), and understand quite well russian and portuguese. She has sung in 12 languages in total • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer. • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens. A quick background on her and her career: She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and American roots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both italian and french as native languages. She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory. She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today. She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada. She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music). In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US. This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert. But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan. She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar through her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years. She is absolutely massive in Russia for instance. She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months and become a recurrent in the local singing contests since then. Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, … With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there. Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her. She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep. He covered many of her songs, most of these were composed by Igor Krutoy and written by by Lara. Out of my mind I can list: ○ Adagio (She wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Mademoiselle Hyde (she wrote it and is the original performer), ○ Love of Tired Swans (she wrote the song in French under the title "Je t'aime encore" and was the original performer of the french then the russian versions, Dimash covered the russian version) ○ Ascolta La Voce / Vocalize (this was a pure vocalization and she was the original performer, then lyrics were added for Dimash and it was rebranded as "Know") She also wrote the lyrics of Dimash's song "Your Love". And she covered "Love is like a dream" before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva). Finally, they also performed "Ti Amo Cosi" together, in trio with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Sumi Jo then again later with Dmitri and Alina Yarovaya, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy: Igor and Dimash connected after his Adagio cover, also endorsed by Lara. Igor came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him after it. Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs, some have Lara as a role model and big inspiration: ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio), ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime), ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Ascolta la Voce), ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow), ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace), ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow), ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow), ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow), ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime), ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade), ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow), ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow, Know), ○ Il Divo (Adagio) ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you), ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow) ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso), ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie), ○ Amir (Je t’aime), ○ Vitas (Adagio) ○ Anastasia Luna (Adagio), ○ Evgenia Fanfara (Adagio), ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade), ○ Soprano Turetsky band (Adagio) ○ Majda Roumi (Adagio), ○ Harrison Craig (Broken Vow), ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow), ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you) ○ .... NB: Lara did cover Caruso , Je suis malade, and Love by grace, these are not her originals, but I mention these here as the related artists were attracted to cover it again after listening to Lara’s version. Today, Lara still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature. In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada. She completed the europe part in September/October and I attended a concert from this tour. It was packed and she was again spectacular. Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

Lara Fabian wrote the heartbreaking yet hopeful LLORA in tribute of her good friend, Maria Victoria, who died as a result of domestic violence. The MV features Lara acting as Maria Victoria. Another masterpiece from Lara is her duet with the late great Belgian singer, Maurane singing Tu Es Mon Autre. Translated into English, some of the passion is lost in translation but at least you get the gist of the message. Lastly, you must react to Ti Amo Cosi, where you can witness with the rest of the world the love and passion Dimash has for Lara as he looks into her eyes as he is sings to her. Another fun fact, Lara and Celine Dion both competed in the 1988 Eurovision. Celine won and Lara came in 4th, I believe. David Foster quickly took Celine under his wing and introduced her to Warner Brothers music organization. Meanwhile, Lara focused her talents in Canada and Europe, including collaboration with Igor Krutoy. The main difference between Celine and Lara is that Lara can compose, write powerful lyrics in many languages besides sing from the heart with great passion. By the way, Igor Krutoy was no slouch himself being a well known composer, $13 billionaire, and an astute businessman Please check out his MV LULLABY.

My wife trained in voice from around twelve to when she was eighteen, and Lara is without a doubt her favorite singer. Lara's storytelling ability, the way she uses her audible breath, the way she weaves in and out of singing and speak-singing, it's all masterful.

“Je suis Malade”, now a french classic, was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973. This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …). When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours. The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes. Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, it started to be promoted on the radio, and the song was brought to fame only when, a few months after, Dalida covered it. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad. But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s. At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends. Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations. The 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3m2qp5qiKynq7s is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries. The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella. Lara is used to perform the song very differently in each of her tour and for instance this 2003 version is even more dramatic kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaqsfZeIdrSGbpo

🇨🇦 Next you must hear her version of Adagio as she co-wrote the lyrics ! Then listen to Caruso in Italian ! Lara (not Laura) is fluent in 4 languages and has a passing understanding of 2 or 3 more ! She sings in 12 languages, and writes over half of her songs ! Look below for 3 separate comments by Eric Sicard, and a lot will be explained ! 🇨🇦

Lara sadly has been underrated by the industry in the US and part of the Americas, for conflict of interests back in the days, however with a beautiful career in Europe, Asia and Canada where she made her world debut. This song was composed by a Canadian composer and singer, Serge Lama in 1973, and owned beautifully by this amazing, talented artist, Lara Fabian in 1994. I have to say as a former musician and singer, aka performer, I have never seen as of today such an amazing talent with such emotion, such professionalism not only in the technical aspects and beauty which she portrays majestically as of this date, it's the storytelling which is so important. It is only logical that Dimash has seen her as his role model. I close my comment with my usual statement: "LARA FABIAN IS A MASTERPIECE ON HER OWN". Thanks for reacting, and yes, please delight yourself with other interpretations of beautiful songs composed by her such as: Je T'aime, Adagio, Broken Vow, You're not from here, among many other wonderful songs. With all the respect to any of the consecrated divas, Lara is the best of the best in my humble opinion and deserves lot more recognition. BRAVO LARA!!!! @LARAFABIAN

Yes. One of the most incredible performances I've ever seen. Lara's "broken beauty" in this song is simply astounding, a descent into madness that is written on her face and heard in her voice. Her emotional collapse at the end is heartrending. I first heard Lara sing when I lived in Brussels in the 1990s. I heard her in 1998 with Johnny Hallyday in Paris -- a duet in the rain that will rock your socks. Johnny was well into his 4th decade as a rock superstar when this was recorded. Lara was just over ten years into her career and already performing like a legend. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hnnaenlsn9KCebs

Definitely a French song (I also discovered her through Dimash.). This is one of the most emotional songs ever and I totally understand why Lara Fabian is one of Dimash’s role models! Love the dynamics between Dimash and Lara when they sang the Trio (with Aida Garifiulina) of Ti Amo Cosi at the birthday celebration concert of Igor Krutoy (composer of many of Dimash and Lara’s repertoires.). Cheers from Canada! (Że swee mal add is the closest I can think to write it!)

Hi Debbie, she is beautiful in every way, isn't she? I do see some parallels between her and Floor in the way that they are both empaths who feel the music themselves and are then able to make their audience feel it too. So, please do more from her! I recommend my personal favorites Caruso, Adagio (English and Italian version back to back) and for some rock vibe Requiem pour un fou the duet with Johnny Hallyday. I believe you'll love them all!

The orchestration is vital to a singer's performance. It must compliment. Likewise the singer's voice must compliment the orchestration/Music. In this case it is a win-win combination. Exceptional indeed. Moving and stirring the soul. This is what I call an Ambassadorial Passport to an International Destiny of language. You don't need to understand the lyrics, it simply touches and move beyond words. This is refined Artistry in its utter purity. ❤
