Kyle one thing I would recommend is a custom made guard for the mini drive shaft so nothing bad happens. Safety first
@xMSTWNTEDx2 жыл бұрын
A guard for the front drive pulleys wouldn’t be a bad idea either!
@richardwilliams91812 жыл бұрын
One thing I might suggest as a precaution. When you're direct drive, you decelerate as fast as you accelerate. So snapping the throttle and making the engine shutdown quickly could cause a severe lean condition for a brief moment. Maybe it doesn't hurt the first few rips. But eventually the extra heat will build up and could eventually lead to engine failure. So maybe keep that in mind for the best chance of keeping her running for a long time and a good time
@dcskate10222 жыл бұрын
Snapping off throttle would cause a rich condition, not lean.
@richardwilliams91812 жыл бұрын
@@dcskate1022 How so? When you're off throttle, it no longer delivers the desired amount of fuel for the rpm you are at, while there is still air present. When this happens, there is still more air than fuel. Thus causing a lean condition. And even if it did cause a rich condition, it would still not be great for the engine. Because it also heavily retards timing when you're not on throttle, basically flooding the engine with air. No matter who is right, the engine still isn't having a great time being loaded up hard under boost and then shutting down almost immediately. Especially with the engine still being stock bottom end. My goal in sending this message was as a precaution. I know a fair bit about how engines work. And I may be wrong about what I said. But the fact still remains that it's not good for longevity to do what they were doing. If it hucks a rod because of too much boost, that's 1 thing. But when it hucks a rod just for testing, it hits a bit different
@WeTheEpicCanadians2 жыл бұрын
@@richardwilliams9181 I don't think it's a bother, rebuilding is another 2 or three videos for the business + write off. And wouldn't they see that in the logs? With Brent being there with Wyatt you know Kyle got the best eyes on the project.
@richardwilliams91812 жыл бұрын
@@WeTheEpicCanadians I'm sure it would show up in the log. But like I was saying, it would only be for a brief moment. So it wouldn't seem like much to worry about. And I get that they do this stuff for content. But not everybody can disregard the safe operation of the engine for content. It's one thing to get paid to blow up an engine, because it gets more views. Rather than having to pay for it every time it happens. I'm in the business of keeping stuff running for a while. I know my experience is nothing compared to Brent when it comes to high performance applications. But I do know a bit about keeping an engine running good

My boat, a 10' squirt, with a 1200 Yamaha 2-stroke would do 49mph with 500lbs of load in it. No idea what pump you using, but you're probably reaching it's limits with cavitation. You can make all the power you want, but the pump is the one moving you forward. With the additional power, you might need an impeller with more pitch which may make it a turd at lower rpms. If you plan on actually using this boat for it's intended purposes, you're going to lose speed no matter what as you grind up rocks.

I agree with all that low down load, If they add more boost those stock A2 Toothpick Rods are going to exit the block. And when that happens on a jet boat it will come to a dead stop and throw you out of the boat and on top of that You loose All steering. Good Times. They should of put some Decent Rods in it when they had it apart. They said that they were always going to boost it, so it is pretty dumb to leave the standard Rods in it.

If i could make a suggestion, don´t cool your engine direclty without any regulation!!! If you run your engine that cold, multiple problems appear. First, your combustion chamber is way to cold for good evaporation of the fuel, under load the chamber heats up quickly and also cools under less load, makes for very unpredictable combustion. Second, all the tolerances like pistons, piston rings ect. are ment for normal engine temperatures. And in generel, if you overcool an engine like this, you get alot more thermal stress and sharper thermal gradients everyware! Use the stock water pump and thermostat and feed the outlet of the thermostat into a heat exchanger. A water to water heat exchanger can be very smal, maby use a smal pice of intercooler core with the volume of two fists, that will do. In industrial aplications with loss water cooling we regulate the amount of fresh water that is injectet into the circulating water, or into the heat exchanger. But then you need another type of thermostat valve.... jadajada
