Fascinating Rhi some of the points highlighted are exactly what I'm doing wrong. Had a lesson today and watching this made everything fall into place especially the legs . Thank you so much for sharing. Hope Woody gets back to top form soon.

This was so interesting, I've seen these before but always wondered whether it'd be strange to go when I only have weekly riding lessons. I might be tempted though as I know my position is terrible! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Very interesting! I had a lesson once with an instructor who told me I was riding with my leg strength rather than balance so I suspect I would have similar issues Rhi. It’s really amazing how technology can help us see exactly where our bodies are functioning really without our knowledge! If the pandemic ever goes away and I can visit family in England again I would love to have a try at this. Thank you so much for sharing! PS pleased to hear you’ve discovered a reason for Woody’s lameness - flipping abscesses!
@RidingWithRhi3 жыл бұрын
Flipping abscesses!!! And bless Woody just being the toughest cookie and not giving it away 😩❤️

I'm in Australia and have been having regular sessions on an Eventing and Dressage horse simulator for 3 years. It has helped me so much with balance in the saddle and consisent rein contact. Plus its so much fun! You can practice higher movements to iron out the bugs and then transfer the feel you want to your 'real' horse. Its amazing how much improvement can come from just relaxing and breathing. I enjoy your channel immensely, keep it up?🤗

Oh my gosh this was fabulous! Thanks for sharing and I am definitely interested in doing something like this in the future. I’m so unbalanced and stiff through my leg muscles that these exercises would be golden. Also congrats on 10k !! Woo hoo!!! 💜

Thanks so much Evie - was a big milestone I am very proud of. It's amazing what these things highlight, was a super interesting lesson.

That was so interesting! I’m not riding really at the moment but when I do I’ll spend a while just building my strength and muscles to then definitely look for one of these near me! I’d love to see another video like this from you of after going away and riding then going back to bed how it helps you progress and the changes between visits!

Fascinating, thanks for sharing this, isn’t that interesting that she was advising you to relax more. Like you say, you’d think she’d Be telling you to fix this or straighten that. Really interesting how she said about horses taking more contact in the right rein! And your left leg being on more than your right, we’re you aware of that yourself? I’d love to get one of these sessions, going to look into it.

Very interesting vlog and I think by keying into your riding all this knowledge will be put into practice on Woody and you will become a better rider and most importantly confident in your riding either when your hacking, schooling or having entered into competitions 😁 Will look forward to a follow up vlog to see the difference. Sorry to hear Woody is lame again. Hopefully the vets visit can bring sone answers to you.

So sad to hear that Woddy is lame again, there is nothing more confusing when our animals are wounded and we cant find out why😞 hope the Vet can fix it. Love from Norway. ❤️

Have heard that mechanical horses are hard to ride because they don't compensate for the way we ride like a real horse does. That's why I want to try one.
@RidingWithRhi3 жыл бұрын
For sure! You can also completely focus on you because you're not worrying about a pheasant flying out of the hedge etc 🤣

This is fascinating Rhi, I know your not far from me in Sussex, where is this based? I think I could very much benefit from something this...
@imogen36363 жыл бұрын
I believe this was at Wildwoods Equestrian Centre, and I know Quarry Farm do mechanical horse sessions too (may be closer to you depending where in Sussex you are)

Hi Rachel, this was at Wildwoods Equestrian Centre, I booked directly through Sarah - i'll link to her website here. She teaches at both Wildwoods and Wimbledon, I chose Wildwoods for the screen (Wimbledon has mirrors instead). www.sarahsjoholmpatience.com/simulator-lessons/
