Mason is played by Sam Worthington, Hudson is played by Ed Harris, Boman is played by Ice Cube, Reznov is played by Gary Oldman. Some big name actors here!

The most intriguing part of the story for me, was when Hudson asked Mason why he killed Steiner when the CIA needed him alive. Alex responded with... 'Because the numbers were telling me to!'. Therefore it implies that Dragovich may have ordered him to go Rebirth to tie up loose ends. Of course Reznov's tampering was already in full effect, to the point where Alex had adopted Viktor's persona and his thirst for revenge. However Friedrich's radio distress call to Hudson and Weaver at Rebirth, offers some small measure of credence to the theory that Dragovich was using the numbers broadcast to tell Mason to take out Steiner. Then again, it could just be mere coincidence that the goals of Viktor and Nikita happened to align at that point, with both of them wanting Steiner dead for their own respective reasons.

Hello, I just found this in my recommended feed on YT - glad I checked it out. One thing to note is that in the mission "Revelations" when Mason is wandering the facility, at one point you can hear his voice saying "Oswald... compromised". This is in reference to Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who, as history states, killed JFK. In addition to the last scenes on the old roll of film at the end of the game showing Mason near Kennedy before he's shot; this implies that Mason helped Oswald assassinate Kennedy, but it was Oswald who took the fall after being arrested in a nearby movie theater. I really do like this creative take on that because if you research the assassination of Kennedy, there are a lot of things don't add up. Firstly, Oswald never had the proper background experience and knowledge to be able to take a shot at a moving target from an elevated position the way he did. Secondly, when Oswald was making his escape, there was no getaway and he hid in a movie theater with witnesses and no other way out. Thirdly, he was picked up by local police and not the FBI. If Oswald was truly a assassin that was given the mission to kill Kennedy and knew how to execute the plan, why wouldn't he have a proper getaway plan? There are a lot of questions but this game provides its own creative answers: Mason helped Oswald, Oswald took the blame, and became compromised but Mason got away because there was no evidence that make the authorities go after him. This game is one of the most unique Call of Duties there are because of so many variables aside from this one.

Blops 1 is one of my favorite campaigns. I think I have to give best to Cod World at War. Definitely recommend a playthrough if you haven't before.

There’s supposed to be a whole recording that plays in that underground compound but you kind of just rushed past it and triggered the detonation, and subsequent escape via helicopter jumping, basically it establishes that they’ve been trying to find a way of preventing their forces from succumbing to the chemical weapon Nova 6, with limited success only succeeding in delaying effects.
