I'm so excited for this playthrough! BJ is such a great protagonist. Kills hella Nazis, delivers monologues in a whisper, eats dog food with no shame. That's a man right there!

@@JonesySpaceCat it was a health restoration mechanic in the OG wolfenstein3d in the original you had either food (10%) medkits (25%) or the ole pedigree chum (4%) if you had below 10% health you could drink pools of blood off the floor for an additional 1% health. desperate times called for desperate measures! even came with its own slurping noise, too! I spent a lot of time in the 90s on what is now considered 'boomer shooters' 😏

Well, that’s just a tease, didn’t even get to the big beginning choice, hooking us with a cliffhanger! Anyway, this a a great semi reboot of quite an old game. This is the second reboot. I recommend going back and playing the first reboot, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, as for the original, I’ll have to keep my mouth shut on that for a bit.

Hey Jonesy, a couple of recommendations for this game: 1. Check your controls, they can be abit wonky at first but they are easy to learn, you can set up a primary and secondary weapon to easily swtich when you open the gun wheel. 2. You have a default grenade throw button, jut remember which one it is. 3. For most guns its better to not aim down sights, unless its a sniper. Keep it up, already waiting for pt 2 :D

Juust so you know. There are Wolfenstein 3D graphics games all the way back to PS2, but the series started in 1981 before 3D graphics. These games like the new order are a reboot.

Hi Jonesy great video been looking forward to this one, its such a good game, there so much action at the start, but nice shooting, the gold chalice is just a collectable, the Indiana Jones film was the Last Crusade great film, that bit at the end was something out of a horror, really enjoyed watching, hope you feel better soon

Wolfenstein 3D is one of the only PC games I ever played. Nothing against them. Just didn't enjoy it myself. Really got into gaming with the first Playstation. I was glad the Wolfenstein series was brought to consoles. I love the concept of alternate history stories.

@JonesySpaceCat It's an old game from 1992. I don't recall why they added the 3D to the title. It wasn't like VR or anything. It was just a first person shooter like the one you're playing. Much more crude graphics though. At the time it was kind of a big deal.

Now it feels like 2025 has properly begun. All I know about this game is it's set in that well-trodden narrative trope of "if the Nazis won WWII". Watching Blaszko slap that guy on the plane reminds me of the immortal words of Abraham Simpson: "You can push them out of a plane, you can march them off a cliff, you can send them off to die on some god-forsaken rock but for some reason, you can't slap them." You never fail to deliver when it comes to 1st person shooters Jonesy. Cheers as always.

it wasn’t, but it was one of the first huge ones from 1991. Wolfenstein 3D, the first FPS dates back to the 70s. In any case this game originally stated out as a 2d action adventure game, eventually the FPS previously mentioned and it’s been rebooted a couple of times since then. This is the 2nd or third depending on your point of view. Maybe even the 4th reboot.

Ah, the New Order...a game that reminds me that I still haven't beaten The New Colossus. It's a great game, though; a nice what if twist of alternate history in the WWII setting. Might have made more sense to start with The Old Blood, as that's a prequel to The New Order, as it's less hectic of an opening, but this is still fun.
