Tina consider that the chickens will help to breakdown the food in the compost area much faster. You can create a movable feast compost bin that you can control when they go in and out and the chickens get a treat and you get prestine soil.

Much blessings on your effort. One way to be more sustainable is to get 'common or yard fowl ' that can reproduce so that you wont have to be going ro the farm store to buy more. They are also more healthy for meat and eggs. Those are not sold at the farm store but you may be able to get or purchase some from persons in the country area. ~St. Thomas
