There are MANY here... MANY professional and experienced designers... builders... tradesmen and skilled craftsmen here.... SOME clients just dont want to: 1. Hire the professionals (they just want a mason that does carpentry electrical and plumbing) 2. do a Bill Of Quantities (to confirm the budget and project spending) 3. follow a due process from concept to getting approvals (thinking why its a poor island why do we need to... lets just tell the mason to start) 4. often want everything that is outside their budget for nothing.. then they end up selecting persons who have to negotiate lower prices by lowering quality based on cost! I see it a lot in my daily job at my desk and in the field ( I am called to either fix it or help them out) never or rarely from the beginning!!!

@@APointJM I wish to present a credible side. Local J'cans do not understand that they are working for the client and they r not trained to listen. To them it's not about what the client wants but rather what they want, so u end up with a nightmare. Many want to scam and rip you off especially if you are a returning resident. The general rule of thumb is that there is very little accountability because they have " connections" and everyone is very aware- the end result can be quite sinister. This construction company hopefully is not of that mindset and will do well because they put the client first which neans they are being professional. I wish them success.
@APointJM Жыл бұрын
@@anngore3842 I understand that exists and have posed the experienced issues based on "credible" evidence also. It is great but THIS construction company (or builder) is NOT and NEVER was the ONLY one. MANY reputable business professionals with successful projects DONT "want to scam and rip you off especially if you are a returning resident" Yet some would like to paint that picture of greedy and ignorance because of lack of due diligence. There are actually several University local that produce professionals in the Built Environment that can plan, manage and execute the project scope and the HEART-VTC has certified person that can execute the tasks (same people who go overseas to work-for-hire projects). I have seen MANY cases where instead of hiring registered and reputable company/ businesses they just hire a friend cousin or the recommended brother of someone... any time they can sign a "minor contract works" contract based on a certified bill of quantities (BOQ) then they will STOP getting ripped off.

I agree about the vibe of the house but I think there is a lack of taste in bringing her old square and rectangular furniture from england. she should throw them away and go for custom made stuff that marry elegantly to the shape of the walls, she also needs an interior advisor service to add some color patches and optimize that type of space.

This is a BEAUTIFULLY designed home. I love the design and features of the domes itself and the decor that Julia chose. Those wooden designs are priceless and loved the carved doors, especially liked the idea of the louvers on the door to promote airflow. She did an excellent job on the garden as well 👏 😍. I especially liked the way the domes catch rainwater and that storage is underground - makes sense to have the 'guttering' at the base of the dome (instead of the roof as traditional houses do) as it allows ease of access to keep it clear of debris. My favourite feature is the tube lights 🤩 how amazing it must be at nighttime, when there's a full moon. Very well thought through designs.
