While English is her 2nd language, she's very fluent in it, and after having heard/seen every single interview Aurora has ever done....I'm 100% certain the bit about describing her sister's baby was without a doubt a joke, rather than her fumbling for the right word. One thing about Aurora is....she has a *_VERY_* dry sense of humor...very ironic and even a bit dark at times. It's one of the things I love most about her. She's very quick and witty and a lot more funny, and aware of it, than I think casual fans would assume. She's the best. :)

Yeah, the part about him being stupid and not contributing was definitely a deliberate joke. But she can also stumble for words sometimes, more often in the earlier interviews when she was younger of course, but also if it has been a long time since she spoke English during pauses in touring or during the Covid lock downs. She is definitely good at writing English lyrics, she started around age 9 after all, and she often has some very poignant lyrics, even including English wordplay: "I spend a lot of time wondering why there's IOU in "you and I".

How every time people choose to apologize for Aurora's language. She knows exactly what she is saying and how she says it. If she doesn't know something, she says so. The interviewer does that and puts words in her mouth. What she means instead. How I hate that. That's her humor. The girl started writing songs in English when she was 8 years old, of course she knows what she is saying when she calls her nephew stupid, useless and lovable. Everyone knows what Aurora means, if only because of how she says it.

This was recorded on May 17th 2022, and she had a concert that day at "The Warfield" in San Francisco, and they were most likely at that venue during the setup. But it would have been nice, if the workers would have had time for a 20min coffee break during this interview 🙂 I cut 4-5 min from this interview to make it fit in the 10min timeslot, but I cut them from the very beginning just after their greeting, not from the spot where you thought something might have been cut. 13:11 She is not talking about advancement in technology or society, but in the things she cares most about which might have regressed, like how we treat nature compared to long ago, when we thought there was gods in everything. Also about how we treat each other, like she said in another interview, there was a time when homosexuality and transgender people was completely accepted and there was even a god that was a hermaphrodite.

There seem to be quite a few interviews with Aurora that take place at venues before her performance on stage and you can see that the space for the interview is hastily set up and prone to a lot of background noise. However, I would recommend one excellent, in-depth interview that she did with Lifekeys about 2 years ago that is probably the best “real” interview with her. It isn’t about creating funny moments but rather about allowing her to speak, fluently, thoughtfully, and with great insight about her perceptions about life and herself. Her interviewer is a psychologist (from Iceland, I believe), named Gudmunder Ebenezer, who asks a lot of insightful questions and then actually listens to her answers. (They both speak in English throughout, by the way.). The downside for a youtube reaction is that it is lengthy at about 1hour and 14 minutes so this recommendation may just be for your own enjoyment. The link is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKe0dYaZitaoj6M. To your point at the end.....if you watch the HAIK mini documentary with Aurora.... She actually talks about specifically that. When she was young some teachers and others suggested to her parents that Aurora might be somewhere on the autism spectrum. But they never medicated her and gave her a TON of freedom to be herself. In her case it was 100% the right call. Of course, she's lucky...I worked with a guy who was clearly obviously objectively autistic, to quite an extreme degree. And it was pretty debilitating. I respected him because he worked 3 times as hard as most people at very basic tasks...just to achieve the same result. But we absolutely should stop acting like merely being "hyper active" and wide-eyed and having trouble focusing on one single task is somehow a "problem." That's very much born of educating young people to be good obedient factory workers, rather than the most fully actualized humans they could be. Again....Aurora got lucky, in a lot of ways. She's the perfect example of how well a person can turn out if you do everything juuuust right.

If you guys have a chance - whether on a video or in private, you should check out the Haik documentary. The first half of it is her being taken out for a day of surprises by a radio personality who is a fan of hers. You will definitely get a very clear insight into who Aurora is. The second half of the documentary is where at the end of the day she performs a concert in the middle of a forest (close to her home and where she spent a lot of time as a child).

Aurora's sense of humour is quite dry and often times very dark--I love how it throws off her interviewers --she is so clever and charming. Imagine how much humanity has lost by suppressing "free-spirit" .....

It should’ve been possible to be quiet when they interview Aurora🫣 I love all her interviews, but this is one of the least funny imo Try the autotune interview lol I’ve been to the castle😍 it’s very beautiful there👍 Baroniet (Baroness) Rosendal ❤️ And she’s right, I do think of her when I think of that castle😅

I quite disagree. Aurora seemed to enjoy herself too. This was her 3rd interview with this same guy. He and a guy named Phil Taggart seem to be Aurora's go-to interviewers who she connects back up with year after year. She does have very long in-depth deep interviews(Lifekeys and Mixtape Memoirs being the big 2), but that's not necessarily what _this_ interview was even going for. It was casual and breezy and relatively short. Just two old friends catching up.

@@avedic Yeah, I quite like Pete Mar, he seems like a very nice guy. I'm not sure why they feel, that he is so bad, maybe because they haven't seen the 2016 and 2019 interviews. Andrew Trendell from NME has done even more interviews with Aurora than both Pete Mar and Phil Taggart.
