Bigbang is the first one to have official lightstick. G-Dragon designed it. Since then all fandoms followed it and now every fandom has their own lightstick. 3. T.O.P is the first underground rapper turned idol in kpop. 4. Bigbang is the first boy group to dye their hair bright unusual colors like pink, blue, neon green, orange. G-Dragon made it trend, starting from blonde there is no color he hasn't tried. 5. Bigbang is the first group that members have solo careers without disbanding. I truly think the reason why BIGBANG are the KINGS OF KPOP is because of the fact that they broke the norms. They made so many firsts in the industry and even though other groups have flourished today, those who have amazing mv views and numerous fans, they just broke records but they weren’t the original ones. BIGBANG was the first of its kind. They had no advertisements whatsoever and as the CEO of Antenna, You Hee-yeol, said they are the group that can be said as a natural. Not manufactured. Natural. Their title is even acknowledged by Korean and news stations, even CNN. There are fitting titles for each one and you could have your personal opinion about it but you could never erase the fact that BIGBANG are the KINGS OF KPOP. Disclaimer: No hate on other groups. I think other groups nowadays made it big more easier than groups before is because with the fact that social media is so hype in this era. Social media took a big part of how they are well promoted but the fact that BIGBANG made it big and very well know without the crazy hype of media makes it more awesome. No, it's no all kpop groups sound like this. Even in their 2nd gen. Only BIGBANG is☺️. That's the reason. They debuted back in 2006 and did hiphop popular in Korea. Their early works are so about hiphop, especially LALALA (debute song). Then they became the first who began to write and produce their own music. Now it's pretty spread among kpop artist to do things like that but when they debuted as idol group no one did. BIGBANG has two rappers: GDragon (leader, who write lyrics and participate in producing the most) and TOP (the guy with deep voice. Check his solo Doom Dada , please) Almost all rap parts in BIGBANG songs are written by T.O.P. Vocal line: Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. (All their vocalists have unique sound and good techinique). All members have successful solo career. The only member who haven't got an album (and we want it, cause it will be lit!) is main rapper - T.O.P. Fans are really looking forward to his album (he has only several solo singals). Now BIGBANG have only four members. But there is no any new pieces from them as four. Last song "Flower road" was released more than two years ago before their military service. Seungri left because of some controversies and problems with law year ago. (Mostly all are cleared and he isn't a part of what people thought he is, but not all allegations are cleared yet). Fans have very different attitude towards this fact. I'm saying this just because there are a lot of opinions so I hope you will be accurate with words about it cause there are fans who support him and want to see them as five (they have a history as five for 13 years, why can't they?) and others who believe he did wrong. It is really complicated if you want you can do a research, if not - no. It's up to u. The only thing I want to add if u will do research remember: BIGBANG are always hot issue in SK, even now.Every single thing they do, say, post on IG (even captions to posts!) turn out to be an article with loud title. So look at articles that are based on official statements not journalists opinions. BIGBANG IS BLUEPRINT. when they did something, everyone follows because they know it's the trend. The mullet hair. Jiyong at that time got another tattoo on the back of his neck. But because he knew his mother will scold him for getting another one, he intentionally got a long hair to hide his tattoo... But everyone followed w/o even knowing the backstory because it looks good on him. He once spotted wearing a nike sneakers in the airport but folded the back part so it looks like a sandal.. Then the shoes got sold out immediately It was during One of A Kind era i think when he started wearing skirts (VIPs, correct me if i'm wrong 😅), the everyone followed. The iconic USB album. Deeyymmm He was the 1st korean artist i think that courted by so many elute fashion brands to be their muse and ambassador. LV eventually invested on YG because of him. Also, eventhough he's Channel's muse, Gucci still use a picture of him wearing Gucci specs on one of their catalogues. Daesung is legit so popular in Japan. Periodt. And LVMH subsidiaries are basically Celine, Dior, Fendi, Fenty, Hennessy, Givenchy, and more, and both LVMH, who invested at YG, and Chanel, who's late executive designer Karl Lagerfeld, deeply admired and favored him. Take note, this man's influece in fashion industry is INSANE. I mean, it's LVMH and LVMH just basically owned those subsidiaries I mentioned above yet those stans are literally downgrading and belittling his influece. From what I understand, bigbang is part of the second generation of kpop. I don't really know all the distinctions between the generations but I know big bang have always been ahead of their times and unique in both their sound and their visuals. And I think that is due to the fact that they were allowed to write and produce their own songs. As I understand, other agencies don't allow their artists to do that

For some info, Big Bang, 2NE1, iKON, Winner, BLACKPINK are in the same company called YG, most of the hit songs composed, arranged by Teddy, he is the major composer in YG. As you said, 2NE1 is Big Bang female version, Korean people said that too since 2NE1’s debut. Unfortunately, 2NE1 was disbanded, some songs that they had been recorded but cannot released. After a few years, listen it from the other group, because most of the song are composed by Teddy!

Yoo I'm so happy lol. Yess the legends. They've been my ult stan since 2010. Ive been to 2 US concerts and their energy is no joke. I truly believe Big Bang created that "kpop sound" people recognize today. Big Bang is second generation. Every member has their own solo careers as well as unit groups like GDxTOP and GDxTaeyang. Everything is fire. Fun little fact: As PSY was in the same company as Big Bang during Gangnam style (YG Ent), a couple members made cameos in the background of the mv.

Bigbang is really awesome group with great mv concept (very ahead of time); crazy beats and bestest rapping. Their vocal also no less. Their rapping skills is holy f.
