Bill Burr is the rare example of the kind of person who's brutally honest and says stuff other people only think and never say, but he's also a mostly harmless jerk and the stuff he says never has anything to do with being a bigot like most "brutally honest" people, and he also talks crap about himself all the time. He's a G.

Bill is correct about half time! Back in the day the half time show was a University Band that had been invited to perform that took the field and gave a real, genuine marching band half time performance. Also back in the day, the network didn't break away from the field every time there was a 'time out' called or injured player. They stayed with the game! Today they will break away after a damn punt! It's all about greed and money today.

100% agree with Bill on Super Bowl parties! The key to efficiently watching football is to record the games and skip through all the commercials. Even if it's a really important game that I want to see the ending as it happens, I'll start recording it first and wait about an hour. By the time you've caught up, you're watching the whole game, seen the final minutes live, and you've saved a good chunk of time in the process. As for Super Bowl commercials, you can find them on a 10-minute KZbin video the next day if they mean that much to you.

@@kilzitxd45 Right? Totally agree with Bill about the worthless coaches interviews too. Love the "and, and, and guys." Lol! My announcer pet peeve is how often the color guy will start a sentence with, "I'll tell you..." or "I'll tell you what..." and then proceeds to tell us. It's your freakin' job to tell us, dude! Why do you have to let us know you're going to tell us each time before you actually tell us. Drives me nuts. Recordings also help skip through all the b.s. commentary. I'm becoming as cynical as Bill as I get older. That's probably why I like him so much. Lol!

I do exactly the same thing. A football games contains approximately 12 minutes of actual play and is about 50% commercials. I start watching about 45 minutes after kickoff time and catch up sometime in the 4th quarter.

It's kind of two things that happened. The halftime show used to be a marching band or something similar. Then in 1992 In Living Color did a quick sketch show on Fox (who wasn't broadcasting the Super Bowl that year) with a timer on it during halftime and it was a huge ratings success. So the next year they got Michael Jackson for the halftime show and it was massive. So ever since then it's been a concert.

The Super Bowl used to be for football fans and now it's for anybody at all, which is great for everyone except football fans. I am 52 years old (I was born during the third-ever Monday Night Football game) and, when I was a kid, half the players on the teams had jobs in the off-season. I grew up in Houston and you used to be able to drive by The Summit and, if the Rockets were playing, go inside and get a ticket for the game just on a whim, as a working-class family (my dad sold street-sweeper service). We had season tickets to the Oilers games throughout the Luv Ya Blue, Earl Campbell and Bum Phillips, era. We had four seats per home game even though there were only three of us (the other seat was usually for my mom's purse and our jackets) and those four seats cost $28/game, for ALL FOUR of them. Pro sports has become a HUGE money game just in my lifetime.

Hey Bitt, About your question on how does he have so much time to watch football. On the contrary. He’s explained that he has a schedule to watch “taped” football games on the days that he has a couple of spare hours because he’s always either busy working on projects or on the road doing his stand up.

He's a standup comedian(my fave). His work day is like 2 hours once or twice a week if he's on tour. He's grinded it out, paid his dues. Do a podcast, a couple of interviews, maybe you're going on some show later that night. If you skip the commercials you can zip thru a recorded game pretty quick. Plenty of time.

A football game is 3-4 hours long IN REAL TIME. The ball is in-play less than 15 (average 11 mins/game). With a fast-forward button, you can watch a football game l fast. Nowadays, you don't even have to do that. There will be a condensed version of the game on KZbin within an hour or so of the game being over. Even watching the parts where the clock is running but the ball isnt in-play, you can watch a game in an hour.

In 1967, the first Super Bowl Halftime show consisted of the Liberty Bell that was performed by the University of Arizona Symphonic Marching Band. But that all changed in 1993 -- the year THE Michael Jackson turned the Super Bowl halftime show into must-watch television.

I played high school football. Was nearly drafted by B.U. Had an anger management counselor, who had been drafted by the Raiders. After what he taught me, it changed my perspective. Went on to fight mma. But, the anger that you are taught, in football,is insane. I'm glad that he was there, to teach me the dangers of it. If I'd had carried that, I'd have been in prison, before I ever got to hug an opponent that I'd lost to.

When I came to the US, 40 years ago, from England, I always watched soccer (football) matches on the telly. There was no commentary for those games for years. It was nice and quiet, and we could watch the game without the never ending mindless chatter from a commentator. Since coming to the US, it drives me nuts, listening to commentators, rabitting on, never ending, telling me what I was actually watching. So, for the past 39 years, I've turned the sound off. American football games are the worst, they include adverts, each play lasts for maybe one minute, or less, and then everyone takes a break for tea. 😁 Theres a group of guys doing videos on KZbin, they did some about Larry Bird, I didn't hear a word of the video, because these 4 guys were talking and yelling, through the whole video. I'm with Bill Burr.

The problem with forgiving these athletes and allowing their acceptance into the hall of fame is that, without the steroids, they may not have qualified for the hall of fame. If you're going to forgive their steroid use, it only makes sense to take away their steroid stats and that would make most of them ineligible.

Steroids isn't some unrelated mistake that athletes have to pay a price for. Athletes on steroids have a clear advantage over athletes not on steroids. Obviously there are exceptions. But generally speaking, that is the case. Athletes that have had a very successful career are often inducted into the Hall of Fame. So inducting an athlete that broke the rules because they used performance enhancing drugs, is an affront to those athletes who made it to the Hall of Fame without breaking the rules. And it's unfair to those who also didn't break the rules but just missed the chance to make it in the Hall of Fame because another athlete just edged them out. Only to find out later that person was using illegal PED's to get those wins , and hits and strikes.

It's actually horrible how women try to just take your time. I'm single for a year now but i don't miss that at all. I don't understand it either. Why would you want to take a guys time, just for the heck of it? Is it some kind of energy leeching thing? Is it suffering and wanting the other to suffer too? Sounds kind of narcissistic to me. Good to know that there are at least some women acknowledging it and willing to change, i guess...

I love watching your reactions Brit but you have to stop talking over so much of his bits. You’re missing a lot of the funniest parts and when your talking over him we can’t hear him so it ruins it for us as well. Just pause PLEASE when you’re giving your thoughts. Thanks love ya!
