So from what I could gather from their vlogs, this song is inspired by a game called parasite eve. They apparently had been working on other songs as well before quarantine, but when everything happened, they really wanted to focus on finishing this song and releasing it. Oli said he had been playing a lot of Doom and really liked the soundtrack so he got in contact with Mick Gordon (he worked on the doom soundtrack) to see if he would work on this with them.

The video game influences have long been embedded in the bands creative process, Ludens wouldnt have happened if the band didn't have Shadow Moses, Oli's been obsessed with trying to work with Hideo Kojima and when it happened they got the call and had to put together Ludens in 5 days. This particular one I believe has its roots from the game Parasite even but majority of it is more relevant to the current climate.

Shadow Moses from “Sempiternal” is a fictional place from metal gear solid on ps1 too. The guys seem to be fans of Hideo Kojima.

Speaking about Attack on Titan (my favorite anime) it maked me follow to Revo and his musical career with Sound Horizon and Linked Horizon since i heard it. He's an excellent musician, and something diferent from the rest, I'd love for you to bring to the channel something like an "Animated Music Series" or whatever, but it'll be an honor to support you if you decide analyze It.
