Brit, Those colors you were seeing on the USS Carl Vinson are the shirts that the flight deck crews wear to designate their jobs on deck. Each color has a specific job. For example, red shirts are responsible for arming the planes, green shirts run the catapults, purple shirts are there to fuel the planes, yellow shirts are there to move and direct the aircraft on deck, brown shirts are plane captain’s, white shirts are safety and medical, Blue shirts drive the trucks on deck that move the planes. The flight deck crews are collectively known as Skittles.

This ranks right up there with Whitney Huston's National Anthem performance at the Super Bowl. I love the fact that it was him playing the guitar and singing and not overly produced. Btw, as far as being "underrated", Chris has 8 Grammy, 10 Academy of Country Music (ACM), 14 Country Music Association (CMA), and 5 Billboard Music awards. ✌️

2:09 That is just the operational colors of a US Navy Aircraft Carrier Flight Deck. The color combo of jacket and helmet denotes their job on the flight deck. It's purely to make it easy to identify who is responsible for certain tasks on a loud, busy, and highly choreographed flight deck.

I went over to my folks’ house to watch that game with them. We sat down to a couple of pizzas. Despite him saying he didn’t care who won, I realized my father was rooting for the opposite team as me. But we all still enjoyed watching the game. However, when it was announced that Chris was going to perform the song (I had no idea beforehand) I then sat up. It gave me the impression things were about to get real. And of course they did. I love how he applied his country/soul singing to the rendition; great pick for a performer by those in charge. And to add that run at the very end of the song, well, he did it his way, and it was damn good.
