A funny curiosity about the group is that the group's vocal coach ended up becoming Main Vocal and is one of the biggest voices in Korea when it comes to vocalists.

I have mentioned it before, but EXID is my favorite group. Kind of like Blackpink is with you, they were the first group that really got me into K-Pop and will always hold a special place in my heart. Yesterday, while they were celebrating their 10th anniversary, they teased a new song. Backed by producer Shinsadong Tiger, they made their debut in early 2012 as a 6-member group, however, they lost half their members within a few months (the other members would redebut as BESTie) and then added 2 new members (Solji, one of their new members was previously their vocal coach). After two more comebacks in 2012 (with the first happening 10 years ago on August 14, 2012), their company didn't give them anything to do for 2 years while they lived in an apartment too small for 5 people and ate mostly ramen. In 2014, they got another chance with the song "Up and Down". When they finished promotions, it wasn't a success and they were facing disbandment, but then a fancam of Hani performing the song went viral and their fates were reversed. They would then go on to promote the song again and get 6 music show wins. They would continue to put out hits for 2 more years until Solji got diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and had to take a hiatus for almost two years while she recovered from it. They continued to promote as 4 until she was able to rejoin them, and they had less than a year left until their contracts ended. I Love You was the first of two comebacks they had during that time. in 2019, with their contracts up they decided they would go on hiatus as Hani and Jeonghwa decided not to resign and both ended up focusing on acting. While the other 3 resigned, their company closed its doors in early 2020, leaving them to find new companies. Solji continues to sing, Hyelin worked a bit on her KZbin channel along with appearing on various shows, and LE mostly worked behind the scenes producing Tri.be. Some other things of note: Solji was the very first winner of King Of Masked Singer, and she marked her return from hiatus by appearing on the show again where she won 5 times in a row before finally being dethroned. She is an absolutely amazing singer and while she was on hiatus, Hyelin had big shoes to fill as the temporary main vocalist. On top of writing credits on most EXID songs and her work with Tri.be, LE has written for various other groups, including helping with the writing of Troublemaker's self-titled debut before EXID's own debut. Troublemaker was a duo featuring Hyunseung of Beast and Hyuna. She is also one of the best rappers in the business. The last show Hani starred in was Idol: The Coup which was a story about a fictional failed K-Pop group called Cotton Candy that was trying to get one successful song. Exy of WJSN also starred in the show.

For the name, just spell out the letters. E.X.I.D. Also I'm prettty sure 75% of the mentions of EXID are me. Funny how the first Tri.be song you checked out, featured a sample of LE of EXID, while LE samples another song for this song. The song in question is Duce Haus's I Love You Like LA. "Let's be depressed together" is really fitting for EXID, because they have struggled through a lot together. They became very close. And yeah, EXID just does EXID things and they didn't care that much about having the normal girl group image. You will see a lot of weirdness in their MVs. The David line is a reference to Michaelangelo's David. A piece of art. Their names. The woman editing is Hani. The one in "food coma" is Jeunghwa, Woman taped up is Hyelin, the blonde in the photo booth is LE, and the dark-haired Woman in the photo booth is Solji. One thing you missed (just do to not knowing their names) is among the missed calls is LE, who is the girl who shows up to help her. Somewhere out there, there should be a list of the crimes they have committed in their MVs. If you check out more songs, some suggestions: Up and Down - Their iconic song Ah Yeah - Their follow-up to Up And Down. The interplay of Hani and LE's lines is truly amazing Night Rather Than Day - A nice chill song. DDD - A peak quality song from them Every Night - One of their songs before they became big and the first song LE has a solo writing credit on for the group. L.I.E. - Mainly just because of how you have reacted to some other songs, I want to see you watch this. It is still a very cool song. I realize, I have listed a good portion of their title tracks, but I enjoy them all. Don't even get me started on B-Sides.

I started to know kpop more than 20 years ago and became a deep kpop fan for 16 years. I've been a fan of many groups. but the band EXID It's the only band that made me feel that this was the k-pop song I was looking for. With each comeback they always make a song that has a high self-esteem and it's often augmented with the 'good vibes'. If you're looking for a k-pop group that really blends in with the concept, this should be it and if you've listened to all the albums it's really good. EXID It's the only band I know of every song on every album because they care about the individuality of everyone in the band, which makes every song fit the members' personalities the most.

I was going to make some comments about the group but other LEGGO have already done a fantastic job of it. EXID is THE group that got me into Kpop. They weren't the first group I'd heard but they were the first one to capture my attention and turn me from a diehard metalhead to a metalhead who also loves kpop lol I know you're very busy but if you really liked EXID, I'd like to suggest checking videos about them. It'll give you a better idea of who they are and put into perspective why their MVs are so different from other girl groups. I suggest doing a search for EXID in Idol Room. These ladies are hilarious!

Wow!! You are the 4th or 5th person that has mentioned being a "Metalhead" and also being a big fan of EXID!! I am exactly the same! I think it was just by chance that EXID was the very first Kpop group that I checked out and even after seeing many other groups.........EXID is still number one for me!! In one of my comments, I mentioned being a metalhead. Someone replied to me and said I might also be interested in Dreamcatcher. I did check them out and I like them VERY much, but still: EXID............number one.

I'm super happy that you can react to EXID's MV. but I have a suggestion. DG you could set up a concept of reaction one day in the week for example on groups of the previous generation. that way you could look back on legendary or popular groups that helped make kpop what it is. bands like EXID, SISTAR, KARA, T-ARA, GIRLS GENERATION, GIRLS DAY, B.A.P, BLOCK B, BTOB, SHINee, VIXX etc...

I'm sure the limits have been off EXID for a while, because this MV concept is definitely not the most shocking they've done. This group has been dead at least three times, and they keep coming back. They just had a series of Japanese appearances that were delayed from 2020. I'm sure they will be back at some point, because new fans keep discovering them.
