EXO debuted in 2012 with 12 members and was broken into 2 sub-units, EXO-K (sing Korean version) and EXO-M (sing Mandarin version). Between 2014 - 2015, 3 Chinese members left due to various reasons. So you will see numbers between 12, 10 and 9 during the 2012 - 2015 vids. Lay, is the only remaining Chinese member of EXO. So when they became 9 members, the sub-units were combined and became EXO until the present. However, in late 2017, Lay could not perform with EXO due to political issues between China and South Korea. So he went on to become a very very popular solo artist in China. In 2021, however, Lay participated in a special album of EXO, which was dedicated to fans as we wait for them during their enlistment period. You may hear that Lay is not part of SM anymore in April 2022 as his contract ended. He still remains as part of EXO though and has said he will work out a special arrangement/agreement with SM. EXO is a vocal-centric group and known as the vocal king of kpop. So yes, vocals.

EXO has three main vocalists ...that damn holy vocal trinity ....too good to no one dare to touch or cover their some songs .....Chen ,baekhyun and D.O...three main vocalists ....three of successful solo artists too....EXO has two main rappers ....chanyeol and sehun....two three sub rappers xiumin ,kai and lay.....yess in EXO main vocalists can rap too...Main rappers can sing too .....you will never disappoint with EXO too....btw FYI....in EXO 8/9 members are professional actors too.... They known as Vocal kings in kpop ....titles as NATIONS PICK ....only kpop group who performed in OLYMPICS .....and literally holding the world guiness records for worlds fastest sold out concerts tickets in 2017 till today ..it's a record who coudn't dare to break ......66000+ tickets just 0.2 seconds beating their own previous record......known for their live and stable vocals in the industry ...just dive in ...thank you for the reaction ...

The thing with EXO, is you always have to count them lol. Call Me Baby was the last mv with 10 members, and Overdose has the last 12 members. You can see different numbers of members since the enlistment started. And of course Lay because of Hallyu ban. 2 more members, Kai and Sehun, are the last to enlist.

Because you like this song so much, you definitely need to also check out the EXO-M Mandarin Chinese version of "Call Me Baby." If you watch the two versions side by side, you will see that the members that are featured in each part are different and even in the dance sections where you might think "it looks the same" there are different members doing different parts. The two versions of their MVs may look similar, but that's only because they filmed the MV twice and deliberately made the scenes look the same. Also if you really pay attention, the scenes may look the same, but the members who sing the parts are different depending on the version that you watch. For example, in the Mandarin version you will see the EXO-M (Chinese) members featured more (Lay, Xiumin, Chen and Tao) and they sing the main parts, and in the Korean version the EXO-K members (D.O., Baekhyun, Chanyeol, Sehun, Suho and Kai) sing those same parts. In the Korean version a lot of the main parts were sung by D.O., but if you watch the mandarin version you will see that Lay sings those parts, and in the Mandarin version the rap was done by Tao and Xiumin, where in the Korean version it's Chanyeol and Sehun, etc. Also if you watch the Mandarin version you will be able to see a different sports car with Tao driving the car instead of Kai. If you want to understand EXO's MVs then you need to know that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and it is how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept -- and since then, everything SM does branches off from that storyline. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them. Now you also need to be aware that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So to really understand their full origin story you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO-M version focuses on the M members and their powers. However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group (short answer to focus on their solo work back in China) but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 members.) In "Call Me Baby," as you see, there are only 10 members. This MV came out in 2015 and it was the first MV after 2 of EXO's Chinese members left -- Kris left right after their "Overdose" MV came out and Luhan left about 6 months later in 2014. This also was the last MV were we see Tao, the third Chinese member that left the group. Tao (The tall, blond with the orange shoes who is the youngest member of EXO-M) left the group shortly after "Call Me Baby." After the Chinese members left, they no longer had enough EXO-M members to promote on their own so they officially combined the groups into one with 9 members. Now that they no longer promote as the two separate groups, they now only produce their main tracks in both Korean and Mandarin. However, they still produce a Korean version and a Mandarin version of almost all of their MVs. Lay is the only Chinese member left, but all the members learn the lyrics in Mandarin for their Chinese versions of their songs. Fun fact: Leading up to the release of the "Call Me Baby" MV, there were 10 Pathcode teasers that were released over several weeks. There was a short teaser video for each of the members, and combined with clues from an SM Entertainment twitter account, we had to piece together the story and solve the mystery to reveal the release date and title of EXO's new song, which ended up being "Call Me Baby." If you notice, there are 10 letters in the title "Call Me Baby" so there was one letter per EXO member. If you want to watch their Pathcode teasers just search SM's KZbin channel. They are all there. The stories in the teasers also connect to EXO's larger storyline as well, and it is thought that they not only show clues to "Call Me Baby," but they also reveal more clues to EXO's storyline and tell a little more of EXO's story. The Pathcode videos are super interesting and very mysterious, just like everything EXO does.
