I love Jackson! I wouldn't consider his solo work as kpop at all . He is from Hong Kong, and when he does solo stuff that isn'y fully English it is in either Mandarin or Cantonese. He did start in (and is still in ) the kpop group GOT7, so I feel like that is how he gets lumped into kpop recommendations. GOT7 is great, but has a very different vibe of Jackson's solo work

Both DPR Ian and Jackson Wang were/are in kpop groups (respectively), Ian was in a group called C-Clown and Jackson is in GOT7 (they haven’t had a comeback in forever but they haven’t disbanded). I think you should really watch more DPR Ian because his videos are masterpieces, for Halloween-ish ones I’d suggest (if you still want recs) Limbo, Scaredy Cat, and Peanut butter & Tears. Some other Halloweeny videos I’d like to recommend are Pentagon - Dr Bebe, CIX - Jungle, Oneus - Come back home and (G)I-dle - Oh my gosh if you haven’t seen them already :)

EXO’s fandom name is “EXO-L" I personally love how meaningful this name is. The letter “L" here, has quite a lot of meanings. The most obvious one is that it stands for Love. What some people dont know about the fandom name, especially non fans, is that the letter “L" comes in between the letters “K" and “M" in the english alphabet. As you know, when exo first debuted, they were split into two subgroups called Exo-K and Exo-M. This means Exo-L always exists between Exo-K and Exo-M. (So it's Exo-K + Exo-L + Exo-M = One) Another speciality of the letter “L" is that it is the 12th letter of the English alphabet. And do you know how many members Exo debuted with? That's right. TWELVE. Isn't it the sweetest thing? I love how at first glance, our fandom name appears to be so very simple, but once you look deeper, you can see how much thought has been put when making it. Personally I find this one of the most beautiful and meaningful fandom names.

OMG, I'm so glad you love EXO! They were the very first Kpop group I got into back in 2013. They are super talented and their vocals are top tier! The two men you were impressed by their vocals were Chen and Baekyun. Three members were missing from this MV actually, D.O. The heartbreak we all felt when laurel said her favorite members of PIXY were Ella (short bob hairstyle) and Saetbyeol (who did the link scream thing) coz they are no longer in the group.. pixy lost 2 members on the same day and added a new member named Rinji. Omg, I've loved all your ATEEZ reactions and to have THE EXO being reacted is just splendid. EXO have like THE BEST discography in K-pop, no glaze at all! All their albums sell millions, and don't even get me started on their solos. EXO is a 9 member group, they used to be 12 with Korean and Chinese members split into a Korean and Chinese subunit until 3 of them left. They still release some songs in Chinese, Japanese, but stick to the Korean for the most part. One of the members even has a song in ALL Spanish. In this mv there's only 6 members, some were in the military and one in China who is still in China since 2017. They debuted in 2011-2012 and their hit Growl, which Ateez members LOVE and even covered the choreo was their peak. It's known as Korea's national anthem 😂 They're known for having THE BEST vocals in K-pop, all very well rounded members, vocally skilled, amazing dancers, rappers, actors, millionaires, soloists, my fantasied husband's, briefly they're just the definition of talent. The rappers are literally main vocalists. Anyways, I hope you check out more of them, they're so worth it and definitely up your alley, so cute too and down to earth, and you should definitely check out their live performances, for starters their Dingo Killing Voice (which ATEEZ also did) and their 2024 b-side medley.

If you liked Exo's Obsession for its vocals, you still need to meet three more members, Xiumin the oldest of the group, Kyungsoo or D.O (if you like melismas, adlibs, runs, he is the king of kings for his vocal agility) They were in the army and Lay who is from China and although he is still in the group he has not been with them for a long time, for chicken issues and especially work, as a soloist, actor, businessman. Jackson Wang is Kpop in that he's in one of the biggest 3rd gen Kpop boy bands, GOT7. (GOT7 is actually Stray Kids' predecessor as they were actually formed by JYP. Bang Chan was actually going to possiblly debut with GOT7) But Jackson is actually Chinese! He's from Hong Kong where he grew up speaking Cantonese, Shanghainese, Mandarin and English. He learned Korean and some Japanese after he moved to Korea as a teenager to pursue becoming an idol. While he was still with JYP he actually formed his own label, TEAM WANG, under the agreement he just couldn't promote in Korea. This led him to make music mostly in Chinese and English for broader accessibility. He also has formed close ties with certain dance crews in LA so most of his music and production is based out of China or the US. GOT7 actually left JYP to each sign with new labels, but remain a group as well. They have been on hiatus for a while though due to military service. Jackson (along with a Thai and American member) don't have to serve and so has been able to be even more active as a solo artist. It's so crazy to see his growth as he is mainly a rapper in GOT7. His hilarious personality and just good soul gained him and his group a lot of popularity in the beginning on variety and reality shows. So much so he was known more as a personality than an artist. Which bothered him a bit, but he has clearly shown now just how much of an artist he is!! He was always a good dancer, even being a coach and judge on reality shows, but has dived even deeper into street dance and has become truly phenomenal. Anyways Jackson is a Chinese Kpop artist who does music mostly in English. The fucking Magic Man himself!

What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows, Baekhyun uses his power of light as a saber in the fencing battle, Chen uses his ability to control electricity (because he has the power of thunder and lightning) to manipulate something to do with the TVs that are playing behind him and Suho (the one with red hair) controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. At the very end we see the planet on fire because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc. (Each of the members are playing 2 different characters.) X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc. To truly understand EXO, you need to be aware that EXO debuted in 2012. "Mama" is EXO's debut song and MV and it's how EXO was introduced to the world and it explains the group's concept -- and since then, everything SM Entertainment does branches off from that storyline. From day one, EXO's concept is that they are aliens from planet Exo and they came to Earth with superpowers to protect the Tree of Life from the Red Forces. Each of the members has a superpower that is unique to them and almost every MV will have at least one, if not all of them, using their powers. Now you also need to know that In the beginning there was 12 members and they were split up into 2 groups EXO-K and EXO-M. EXO-K sang and performed their songs in Korean and EXO-M sang and performed those same songs in Mandarin Chinese. EXO-K had 6 Korean members and EXO-M had 4 Chinese members and 2 Korean members. So, to really understand their full origin story, if you haven't yet, you have to watch both the K and the M version of "Mama", because the EXO-K version focuses on the K members and their powers and the EXO-M version focuses on the M members and their powers. However, since then, 3 of the 4 Chinese members have left the group -- short answer to focus on their solo work back in China -- but there is still one Chinese member left, Lay. (Any performances or MVs you watch that took place prior to May 2014 you will see all 12 members.) However, now -- because they no longer have enough Chinese members -- they no longer do separate promotions, but they still produced almost all of their MVs and main songs in both Korean and Mandarin, they just now promote as EXO with 9 members. However, in the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group. Therefore, each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have created a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop, and it has made us question everything we previously have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. On the surface level, one interpretation of the lyrics could be that it's talking about obsessed fans. But EXO songs never have only one meaning. If you delve in deeper, it's actually talking about society in general and people's greed for material goods, money, fame, etc. All the things that people can become obsessed with that aren't what they truly need. With EXO's storyline it is thought that the Red Force is controlling humanity by preying on our gluttonous greed for all things material, and making us forget about showing each other love, compassion and respect, etc. The MV starts out with the red and blue light because it's supposed to represent how EXO are currently battling with X-EXO and the Red Force for control. In EXO's MVs when you see red light or anything that is red, this represents the Red Force, and when you see blue light or anything that is blue, this is thought to represent EXO. Therefore, when you see red and blue in one scene or purple -- red and blue mixed together make purple -- this is showing how the line between the two sides is being blurred and they are fighting each other, etc. Since "Obsession," some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO, and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovered that the story hasn't necessarily been showing EXO the whole time. With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV. And we now think it is linked to EXO's new "Let Me In" MV, where we see a meteor on a collision course for Earth and EXO are trying to figure out how to prevent it from destroying the world. Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV storyline. If you pay attention to what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in "Obsession," those all-black outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in the "Jopping" MV. Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs, which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. Therefore, it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, Baekhyun and Kai have gathered the best of the best of SM's groups -- Taemin from SHINee, Taeyong and Mark from NCT, Ten from WayV and Lucas who is a former member of WayV (now a solo artist) -- to help them battle the Red Force, and maybe, eventually, take down X-EXO. Just like the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force. Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. And not only are EXO's and SuperM's MVs and storylines connected, but pretty much all of SM's groups have storylines and concepts that connect together, which is designed to become part of one giant graphic novel or movie in the SM Culture Universe. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in EXO's MVs and live performances, here is a list of the members and what their special power is. EXO-K 🌊 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho.) 💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light. 🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix. 🌏D.O. (Do KyungSoo) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control earth (dirt), which gives him super strength/force. ☄Kai (Kim JongIn) is a main dancer, lead vocalist and sub-rapper and his power is teleportation (Kai means opening, as in a door or gateway, so his stage name is meant to symbolize his role in the group.) 🌪Sehun is the youngest member of the group and he is a lead rapper, lead dancer and a vocalist -- his power is the ability to control wind. EXO-M ❄Xiumin (Kim MinSeok) is the oldest member of the group and he is a lead vocalist and lead rapper and his power is the ability to control snow/ice (frost). 🦄 Lay (Zhang Yixing) is the Chinese member of the group, he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and rapper -- his power is the ability to heal anything. 🌩Chen (Kim JongDae) is a main vocalist and his power is the ability to control thunder/lightning/electricity. (As you can see, Xiumin and Chen were given stage names that sounded more Chinese so they would fit in better in EXO-M because they are the Korean members of the Chinese group.) The Chinese members who are no longer part of the group, but are still an important part of EXO's storyline: 🐉Kris was the leader of EXO-M and he was a main rapper and vocalist -- his power was the ability to fly and his spirit animal was a dragon (Kris left the group in April 2014.) 💭Luhan was a main vocalist and his power was telekinesis -- the ability to control things with his mind. (Luhan left the group in October 2014.) ⏲Tao (Z.Tao) was a lead rapper and vocalist and the martial artist of the group, so he did the flips and stunts in the group's routines. His power was the ability to control time. (Tao ended activities with EXO in August 2015.)

Let me answer your question regarding Jackson. So whilst his solo music is certainly western he himself is a member of Got7, they were a group under JYP until the members decided not to renew their contracts. The members have since gone on with their own thing and some have signed to different labels but have assured fans that they have not disbanded and will do group activities. As they were in JYP they are a direct senior to SKZ and Channie grew up with a lot of the members, especially BamBam who is a similar age to Channie and a very good friend. Every now and then Channie will mention doing things with members of Got7 including Jackson and before the group left JYP during a live stream you could hear SKZ being loud and cheering from another room (I think they had a live on at the same time and were cheering because their mv reached 200,000 views but I’m not completely sure about that part). Either way I definitely think you should hear more of Jackson’s music. The entire magic man project was amazing honestly. Also his song and mv ‘100 ways’ is so so good and would be appropriate for Halloween as well.

Dude I love this series it is so good- bro I can’t tell you how much I adore Addicted, probably my favorite from them (and yeah no they always have insane choreographies another one you should react to is Wings their debut, plus their live performance it is PHENOMENAL) also I commented on your last video but the ones that you talked about (the rapper with the deep voice who you said was now your Bias, and the one who did most of the high notes including the ones at the end.
