EXO's "Beauty and the Beast" performance was a performance for an award show in 2013 so there are still 12 members in the group. The comeback stages for "Power" and "The Eve" that you watched were from 2017, so at this point they have been a 9 member group for almost 3 years -- however, there were only 8 members in these performances because Lay, their Chinese member, was not able to participate in these promotions. "Beauty and the Beast" incorporates EXO's two songs "Growl" (first song), and "Wolf" (second song). In "Wolf" they are supposed to be wolves so what you see as part of the choreography is moves that make them look like they are wolves. Both of these songs have MVs you should check out. ("Power" also has a MV, but it is nothing like the comeback stage you watched. And "The Eve" has a dance practice, but no MV because it's a B-side track.) I think you will be blown away when you see all the MVs, because they have a totally different vibe then what you experienced in these live performances. MAMA is an end of the year award show and the name stands for MNet (The TV network that sponsors it) Asian Music Awards. It's kind of like the Grammy's or Emmy's or MTV music awards, etc. But even better, because each of the groups who are nominated perform special stages for the award show and it's like a mini concert for each group. And because half the audience is filled with their industry peers, the performances are super epic because they want to try and outdo each other and to show exactly why they are the best in the industry, etc. Some of the best performances come from the end of the year award shows. And MAMA isn't the only award show, either. Each TV network has their own show so at the end of the year we have 3 or 4 epic events to look forward to. And award show performances are performances you will never see done anywhere else. Each group comes up with something special and unique for the award show. The girls in white in the audience are Seohyun and Hyoyeon, who are members of Girls Generation (SNSD) who are label mates to EXO, both under SM Entertainment. They are EXO's older sister group and they are second generation. The guy with the yellow hair with the sunglasses, that looks like he is just too cool, is G-Dragon from BigBang who is a YG Entertainment senior group and a legendary artists in the industry. And the guys next to him are L and Sungyeol from Infinite which is a Woollum Entertainment group. The girls sitting next to infinite are members of APink who are from Cube Entertainment. The guy the camera focuses on that smiles and waves at the camera is Hoya from Infinite and he is known as one of the top dancers in the industry, so the camera man was hoping to get a reaction from him with EXO's dancing. The girl at the very end who was singing along was Jung EunJi the main vocalist of APink. They are all well known artists and the majority of the TV viewers and the entire audience at the show would know who they are.

Okay but did you notice in the 2nd vid 2013 ma/ma, that D.O was injured. He fell down and sprained his ankle in the intro part when they were up in the wall thing with desks. You may not know D.O but did you notice anyone who has a sprained foot? It's honestly so crazy knowing this after watching the video. He finished the whole performance. He is also most of the time in the front because he's a main vocal and he sings a lot of lines. EXO got their first ma/ma daesang in that year. 1 year after they debuted. Also the guy w silver heart here is Chanyeol, he’s the main rapper and he has red hair in the Monster Mv, the guy that was standing with him when they hit each other’s chest was Sehun And they originally had 12 members, 2 members left in 2014, another left in 2015, and so the group continued to promote 9 members, until 2017 Lay had to go back to China because of political conflicts between Korea and china, he’s still a member of the group and he loves his members a lot. So then the group promoted with 8 members until 2019, the oldest member Xiumin enlisted in the mandatory military service his discharge date is December 6th 2020, after Xiumin left D.O volunteered shortly after, he wanted to go early, his discharge date is January 25th 2021. The group promoted with 6 members, while the other 3 members were inactive. They made a the Obsession album. In the beginning of 2020, the members Chen announced he was getting married and expecting a baby, which was recently born April 29th 2020, Earlier in May, the leader of Exo, and the next oldest after Xiumin, Suho announced his military enlistment date, which was May 14, 2020, Suho will be there longer then the other members because he is going to be a public service officer. His discharge date is February 2022. The members will keep enlisting into the military to fulfill their mandatory military service. Baekhyun is the next oldest after Suho, so he is the temporary leader, and he is the next to go to the military, he will go next year before his birthday (May 6th). The members are suppose to work on their solo careers until all the members reunite and finish their military service, they should al be together again in 2026. Oh and Lay doesn’t have to go to the military since he is Chinese, and he’s the only Chinese members left in the group. You didn't really ask, but~ The guy we follow through Growl & has the dance fight with Kai is one of the three members that left EXO: Luhan He has a very successful solo career in China, where one of the shows he was on was a street dance battle competition where he was team leader on a team with Jackson from Got7~ I really recommend reacting to Luhan's "magical dance" from there *and* his team's Kungfu Dance (Jackson is also in the Kungfu Dance) Luhan also did a dance with Rie Hata for the same show^.^ Luhan also has some performances with Kinjaz that I reccomend reacting to^.^ - New Years Performance (choreography version) - Coming In Hot

Well, exo in the beginning are 12 members. Now ot9... 3 in militery (xiumin, do, suho) 1 as soloist in chinese (Lay 28:25 is a dancer, vocalist, producer, composer) 5 busy with their other project. (baekhyun, chen, chanyeol, kai, sehun) 3 ex-member (kris, luhan, tao) they are succesful soloist in china.

In the Growl 2013 MAMA performance that you watched , one of the members (D.O, the one at 6:57) actually sprained his ankle jumping off the jungle-chair-platform thing! Since he didn't want to interrupt the performance, he finished the rest of the performance (11 minutes!!) with the sprained ankle . Kai said that as soon as they left stage, he fainted from the pain. True dedication!! ^^

around 17:20 you'll notice D.O was struggling doing the dance because his ankle got injured at the beginning of the performance when they went down from the tables, he landed in the wrong way. D.O was taken to the hospital right after the performance, missing their first daesang award. it's amazing how he handled it so well, we didnt even noticed that D.O was injured throughout the performance. EXO were 12 members back then, divided into 2 units (EXO-K; 6 korean members singing in Korean & EXO-M; 4 chinese members and 2 korean members singing in Mandarin) they been releasing songs in both korean and mandarin versions. but around 2014 to 2015, 3 chinese members left EXO (Kris Wu, Luhan & Tao) leaving LAY the only chinese member and exo as 9 members, no more EXO-K and EXO-M, just EXO. but they still release chinese and korean version of their songs :) there 2 official subunit of EXO (EXO-CBX stands for Chen Baekhyun and Xiumin. and EXO-SC stands for Sehun and Chanyeol) I recommend you watch LAY (their only chinese member who is a soloist in both U.S and China) - NAMANANA, SHEEP, GIVE ME A CHANCE, HONEY, SHUT UP AND DANCE (with Jason Derulo & NCT 127), and LOVE YOU MORE (with DJ Steve Aoki and WillIAm) also their concert performances: 1.
