That is the tricky thing with Carlin videos on YT. Many times they are labeled wrong, like this one, because of the way Carlin slid from topic to topic. This one is actually two, "Airport Security" and "Fear of Germs". The latter you've already reacted to. Wiki is a good place to check the titles and runtimes. Thankfully one can never get enough Carlin.

A Limerick is kind of like a crossover between a joke and a poem, with certain rules. Here's one I wrote while visiting the city of Limerick: There was an old lady in Dublin Who looked like, and walked like a Goblin She lived on Poteen And noone had seen Her sober enough to stop wobblin

What makes George Carlin truly a magnificent comedian, is that he never went on stage attempting to sway you into a club or promote ideologies he likes, in fact he was quite adamant about not wanting to be a part of society, he merely enjoyed watching it fail, and even if we did some how manage to get everything perfect and fix things to were life was idyllic and a dream world to live in, he still didn't want to be part of any of it. You should check out his book Brain Droppings, he has an audiobook version on Audible where he is doing the narration.

For the record, a limerrick is a short, funny rhyme. You my have heard a reference to: There once was a man from Nantucket...for example: There once was a man from Nantucket, who did take a crap in a bucket. When he was done, just for some fun, tossed it over a fence and said F*ck it.

So I was EOD in the Army (Bomb squad) and our job was to obviously take care of dangerous packages and to do that you have to put your mindset into the enemy and think how would you attack something. I was standing in line at the airport on Christmas waiting to go through security and it just hit me. If someone wanted to cause maximum damage you’d do it BEFORE the security checkpoint standing in the middle of that huge line. Security is an illusion..Oh and sleep tight with that thought 🤣🤣.
@RadeticDaniel
@RadeticDaniel Жыл бұрын
While I do appreciate this pondering I have my doubts about the ethics of posting it publicly because we never know who may get inspired xD As for damage... that is the maximum damage on site, but the airplanes could be aimed to targets with higher strategic weights. So I see the inspections at the airport as a measure to protect anything outside the airport. We in line are merely colateral damage at that point sadly =/

I think the reason with cleaning the arm before a lethal injection is (and i think if i recall correctly has been a case thats why this was introduced) is that in case the person doesnt die, and the area got infected he can sue the prison/state. (He will still be put to death but they will still loose the money)

The clip ended before he explained how he rarely gets sick and that his exposure to germs and virus is based off things over his life that gave him a strong immune system. That when he drops food on the floor, he picks it up and eats it. and that when he was young the kids all swam in the Hudson River which at that time being the 1940's the city's sewage system literally flowed right into the river. That they swam in raw sewage essentially and that his body was "tempered in liquid shit". Personally, I am the same way i grew up as a young kid in the 1980's we played outside and ate dirt, shared food and drinks and hell, when one of my friends got chicken pox my parents along with the parents of 7 of my other friends sent us over to his house for a sleepover so that we all ended up get chicken pox and that was that. The sickest I have ever been kept me out of work for a day and half and that was bad food got from crappy takeout. Tested positive for Covid 7 times and only one of those seven times I even noticed anything that just being a bit more tired for about a week and that I lost taste for about two months. other than that, felt just fine and was surprised on the other occasions i even tested positive and I did not get the shot either. I have more issues with my spring/summer allergies then I do with ever getting sick. Which me sick is rare. Just saying there is truth into immune system and its exposure to things that over time strengthens itself.

This is one of his bits that many people often misinterpret as literal. This is Carlin commenting on our society's obsession with both violence and safety. To put this into perspective, our common forms of entertainment center largely around violence. Nothing says "national news" like random acts of violence. Networks play on people's fears, anxieties, and insecurities for ratings. The entire entertainment industry makes its biggest profits off of simulated violence. Meanwhile, the reality of being in an actual violent situation are relatively low compared to more common day-to-day dangers such as traffic accidents, workplace safety accidents, and just plain getting a moldy piece of bread. George was showing the irony of our obsession with violence and the lengths we will go to avoid our own imaginary obsessions.

F.Y.I. the reason why they swab your arm before a lethal injection is because they put the I.V. in well before the actual injection and there's always a, however slim, chance the phone could ring and the governor stop the process. Keep it up!!!!

Girl...... you really should watch his standup shows in the order they were recorded. I first learned of Carlin with his records (which pre-dated his HBO specials) in the late 1970s. He was in his early "Counter Culture" phase at that point. In fact, some were from when he was straight edge (his REAL early stuff). But like what he's doing with you right now, he made me think.... the difference is, that he taught me to think at a very early age (pre-teens). Needless to say, my grandmother (who raised me) didn't like my exposure to him, very much.... in fact, she outright forbade me to listen to his work. And yeah... that stopped me... For all of about 5 minutes. I still got my hands on his records (usually through friends who copied them onto audio cassettes, and gave them to me). But in the early 1980s, when Cable TV became a thing for the masses.... we had HBO..... and I started seeing his Specials on a first run basis. I was in my early teens at this point, so I was ready to absorb and properly comprehend everything he was saying. That REALLY pissed my grandmother off. But she couldn't stop it... the seeds had been sown.... and the flower was going to bloom in a few years. While I'm not a stand-up comedian, I do write jokes about things, and many of them, on subjects many would consider "inappropriate". Just a little background on myself, I met my first wife in very late 2000. I was 33, and she was 38. She would be diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2003, fight it for a couple of years, and finally be deemed terminally ill in 2006, less than a month after my first book was published. I put everything on hold to care for her during her final few months on this Earth, but she had asked me to "Just keep me laughing. If you can find a way to joke about my condition, please do so. Just keep me laughing." Well, that middle part was quite a challenge, but I did write a couple. And just to show you how good her sense of humour was, she came up with a better punchline to one joke, than I had. I asked her, "When you 'cross over', who are you going to track down for an autograph first, John Lennon, or Freddy Mercury?" Her reply kinda shocked me..... she said, "Jimi Hendrix, because he's going to know where all the good drugs are." I kid you not, that was her reply, and it blew away the punchline I had.... so much so, that I can't even remember the punchline I had in mind for that joke. The world lost a great piece of inspiration for me when she died. But needless to say, I was devastated when she died. Despite being remarried to a wonderful woman (whom I'm sure my first wife sent to me), I still am not the same. But anyway, congrats on 100k subscribers, and please keep doing these comedy reactions! I'm really enjoying them. If I may suggest a few others; Sam Kinison, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Andrew "Dice" Clay, and others from the 70s and 80s are a good place to start.

It's not alcohol, it's lidocaine. Topical anesthetic. Which I think is even more telling. We're killing someone for some heinous crime, but got to make sure they don't feel the jab of the needle. Most (all) of the time you get a jab, that's not alcohol. Same topical found in Bactine or sunburn sprays.

If you want to have a better understanding of what a limerick is, go watch Zero Punctuation's review of the game Wolfenstine. He does most of it in limerick form so you'll have plenty of examples lol.

Hey girl! Been watching your videos for a while and just realized that I was not subscribed. So sorry! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!! 🤣🤣😆😆 I also just realized that you have not reacted to Teddy Swims. I highly suggest you react to this guy. He used to just do covers, but now he is making his own music. Might I request that you react to Teddy Swims "I can't make you love me"? If you don't like this guys voice I will eat my mouse and keyboard (with a little salt, pepper and Ranch Dressing like a normal person would do)! Love your reaction!!!

Too bad this one missed the next bit. He said when he and his friends were younger, they swam in raw sewage! You know... to cool off. It was during the polio epidemic. Everyone was getting polio, but not him and his friends. Why? They swam in raw sewage! lol This was pre-covid...
