Make sure when you go back to react to the EP’s you watch the videos! Thread the Needle, Calcutta (my fav!), Nazareth, Jaws…also worth watching the “Room Below” version of the last song on this album, Blood Sport! 🙌🏻 ( Just a suggestion of course :) )

Don't be so hard on yourself! ST are difficult to decipher most of the time. It's kinda their mo. I felt similarly initially with this song, but it grew on me.

Lmao I feel like your reaction to this was the same style of reaction I had to “Lover” by Taylor Swift on first listen. Not because of heaviness but because of the almost theatrical way she sings on that one that reminded me of Grease a little bit. I’m not usually a fan of really theatrical sounding singing because I’m much more into album style music than musical theater, but after listening a few times, “Lover” is one of my favorite songs by her and I get it stuck in my head multiple times a day. The part I mean specifically is how she sings the song title at about 2:25. I didn’t like it at first but now that’s what pops into my head at random times 😂 I feel like Sleep Token is a band that’s great for all kinds of different moods, so once you get the whole discography in your head, you can kind of pick and choose which songs fit what you’re feeling. “Gods” is a good song when I’m feeling more frustrated, but it also has that pretty part in the middle that gets stuck in my head as well. Then other songs like “Take Aim” and a few that I don’t think you’ve gotten to yet are ones that I gravitate toward when I’m after a more mellow or sad vibe and want to sing along.

Haha it's funny that you say that because Lover actually gets the most hate out of all her albums (besides maybe debut) from the Swiftie community. It took me a while to really appreciate that song/album as a whole, but now it's one of my favorites just because it's so bubbly and airy. I've definitely listened to Gods a few more times since my initial reaction and it has grown on me!!! Even if I don't necessarily vibe with a song on first listen, I'll listen to it a few more times and I usually end up changing my mind. But that was really the first ST song that I had to do that with. Thanks for all the support Eli!! I appreciate it :)

You did great! These lyrics are challenging, especially when it comes to the deity stuff (for me personally). I feel you on the heaviness. This is not my favorite of theirs. I have a hard time with the screaming even though I understand it’s purpose-the pain, anger, frustration.
