You may be onto something with the Eden connection. There are several themes that recur often in Sleep Token songs. Some of these being, teeth, biting, being swallowed, being submerged, drowning, cars ie passengers or crashing or headlights or dashboards, and of course self harm and self deletion attempts. This song has some of my favorite drumming from II. Stay safe.

I love your perspective. It honestly hadn't occurred to me to think of the "take a bite" line as a bite of the forbidden fruit. You may be on to something. It could also be another fascet of his excellent writing that make many connections.

GO TYLER GO side note: I’ve tried getting my step daughter in ST and she digs it but not as much as me. Her coworkers are playing ST at work lol. She said “by the way I know you’ll love Taylor swift, you just haven’t found that out yet”. I kinda agree with her bc I know she can write a hook and has a great voice. I’m currently trying folklore and I ain’t mad at it so far. Edit: there’s a reason they close their shows with this song. It’s their most crunk by far.

Thanks for all the support, Dan! I really appreciate it. You're one of the people who has made this ST journey so enjoyable for me. One thing that I've learned from this journey into the world of metal, is that our preconceived notions of a particular genre of music (or an artist, like Taylor Swift, for example) are often clouded by personal bias or what we see in the media. If you would have told me three years ago that I'd be reacting to metal on KZbin, I would have laughed and dismissed it immediately, because I thought the entire genre was strictly screaming. Obviously -- I was wrong. Similarly, one of my buddies is a major Tool/90's grunge fan. So, whenever I used to play Taylor Swift in the car, he would immediately tune out and get on his phone. Six months later, he's bobbing his head and singing along lmao. Her songs are actually CHALK FULL of emotional depth, if you listen to the lyrics, and understand the lore behind why she wrote the song (which is also what I'm discovering about Sleep Token. It's why I love them so much already). All this to say... it's comfortable to stick to what we know, but when we actually take the time to sit down and actively listen to different kinds of music, we have a greater appreciation for music as a whole. If you're ever looking for something to watch on Netflix, I would recommend checking out 'Miss Americana'. I have not always been such a Taylor Swift stan, but when I watched Miss Americana, it really changed my outlook on who she is and what she is trying to accomplish as an artist. There are many things that the public doesn't realize that she went through and even the people who claim to hate Taylor Swift the most walk away from the documentary having the utmost respect for her. Anyway, could be a good watch with your step daughter!! Good luck on your TS journey, as well. :) Edit: 'The Long Pond Sessions' on Disney+ is a GREAT way to experience 'Folklore' and get a deeper understanding of the songs on that album.
