Leo is definitely a rabbit hole (no pun intended) to go down. Hearing pop songs put to a heavy metal beat is fascinating. First one I saw was Toto's "Africa" and that got me hooked. Check him out!

Leo Moracchioli is a KZbin legend. He has a huge catalogue of heavy metal covers of pop songs and other genres!! This was a song by Bonnie Tyler from the 80s & used on many movie soundtracks. Fully appreciating Leo's talent requires to know BEFORE going into one of his videos what the original song sounds like.. as he completely re-engineers the song into his own (typically much heavier / dark metal). Leo is amazing. The man has metalized songs you would NEVER expect to sound good metal, and often, they sound BETTER then the original. Or just as good. There are videos he has his daughter in, and he and his daughter performed "Cover me in Sunshine" together, which was utterly adorable. He's done a number of kids songs in his style, enough that he just announced the release of an album of kids' songs. He plays all the instruments, which, most of his videos are done in his studio, and you can see the instruments lining the walls and it's just...eyepopping. Definitely a MASSIVE rabbithole to jump into feet first. Asking for specific songs is near impossible, as he rarely takes a break. And to put that in perspective, I've been following him for like, 6 years or so, and he's missed MAYBE 4 Friday releases. MAYBE.

Leo has been my fav youtuber since I discovered him shortly after he started doing these. Almost every Friday (he's only missed a handful of weeks in 8 or 9 years) he drops a new cover of anything non-metal. Although sometimes he plays known metal songs as heavy acoustics. You pick a genre, he's probably got at least a song or 2 to fit the bill. Has Halloween and Christmas covered as well. His best work is his covers of anything from the 80s n 90s and, oddly, diva power ballads (hello, rolling in the deep, chandelier etc.) He does all the studio work, all the instruments, the arrangements and vocals himself, but occasionally has other youtubers join him. He's got well over 500 covers for you to choose from.

Came here for the Leo reaction, always appreciated! I've seen toto Africa mentioned several times and it's awesome, but a little off the beaten path from him but awesome is his KPop covers. I have zero interest in KPop but his covers are great. Boombayah or how you like that - a Sitar in a metal song, whoda thunk.
