You can recognise the name Housos in the theme tune.' How ZOWS' (zows as in ROWS a boat). Listen how they sing it.

Say house but with a Z after the S & then end it with an O’s like when saying cheerio O’s (HousZ O’s). Not sure if anyones explained to you what a “houso” is but they are basically people who live in department of housing which is cheap government housing for poor &/or disadvantaged people, like disabled, single parents, refugee’s, out of jail and on parole etc. The ones in the city look alot like the “projects” in the US, but then out of the city they have area’s where its just all dept of housing houses, theyve only just realised its not good to place 100’s of dept of housing homes all together like they in Airds, Claymore, Macquarie Fields etc (where I live) so they are knocking as many down and selling off the land atm once people move out. The Redfern & Macquarie Fields riots were prob big wake up calls lol.

The correct pronunciation of housos. Break the word down into two syllables. Hous: As in, How's your mother? Os: Think of one O, and then pronounce the plural of O. Combine the two but you dont take a breath in between the two syllables, easy peasey.
