I think both are amazing Idinas' version is dramatic and gives a more Disney like direction. Where as Aurora's is more like the northern lights in her own homeland beautiful and ethereal. Great unbiased reaction there Adam.

Yea, I love Idina's version as well, but... when you remember that Aurora was the voice of the forest, the embodiment of nature in Arendelle, this just seems like the version of the song that's been there the whole time, but no one was there to hear it. Just raw, spiritual, natural energy - like nature "musing" over Elsa's story, or the echo of her version in the mountains that might sound different. I may be in the minority here, but I always thought that the ending of the original was so crazy, melody-wise. I always kinda felt that it was alittle out of place. It would make sense if Aurora just wasn't able to really "inject" that part of the song into her version, if it just didn't sound quite right with what she was doing, and she just decided not to put it in.

As you said, Menzel's version is perfect for the film. Auroras version just wouldt work with all the drama in the film. Its more an adult version if that makes any sense. Where one is loud and dramatic and you can practically see the firework of colors and movements, the other is more muted. With much more emphasize on the delicacy of tones and variations of voice. One is good for the cinema, the other is for sitting with a glass of wine and just listen. Exellent reaction again Adam. On a sidenote; I found this gem of a video. Its a young Aurora (15 i think) Before her singing career started and she was training dance. In this video she danced alongside a friend. Aurora is on the right I think and its quite cool. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH7QpWSti8ydr5o A bit of trivia perhaps but I think it tells us a littlebit where she comes from. Tell us what you think if you please.

Thanks for the reaction/analysis, I do prefer Aurora’s version as a stand-alone song on a playlist, but both are well-crafted. I like the back-to-back format. I’d recommend using it again for Animal. The official music video and then “Live at The Current” afterwards. Aurora and Silja Sol really shine here (more so than usual if that’s possible 😁), in all three The Current performances, for that matter.

How we think of and experience religion and relationships. How we become more powerful and grow as we age in mind and spirit. Great reaction, your analysis speaks to me. I like Disney movies since I was a child so I like Frozen too, the music and lyrics fit the story as always in Disney movies. Idina , as you said is a great singer, a wonderful and powerful voice, plus the orchestra arrangement is so well done, I really like this version, perfect for the movie. Aurora's version brings another light on it, we can have moments in our life that are changing time, where we have to choose between security or follow our heart and jump into the unknown (it can be scary). As always Aurora with her voice, her way to tell a story, her way to create a musical atmosphere, brings me in a magical place that speaks to my heart and soul and I love that :o) I listened to Panic at the Disco version, more rock using the power of horns section and the singer has a very good voice for sure. I like a lot rock music as much as I like good horns section, I Love big band too ;o), so yes the music is good but the song has no meaning for me :o/ it let me kind of flat (I'm not into the unknown). After listening at it I though... "if the singer was wearing a dress it would have been at least funny" (sorry for those who like this version, this is just my humble and personal opinion, don't kill me ;o) But what was really funny is that I discovered a bit later a version that made me laugh a lot. Down below the link to this... special version ;o) kzbin.info/www/bejne/q4WqYnqtqa6srqs Thank you Adam for reacting to both versions, it is interesting to have the comparison, so yes I like this formula :o) Take care and stay safe

I really love Auroras version of this song. But I have to admit I was a bit ambivalent after my first listen. A part of me wanted the big and bold chorus and this was missing. I was so used to the vocals of Idina. But after two or three listens something fell into place. It’s the etherealness, the subtle changes and the overall sound. It is now my favourite of the two. Fun fact, Disney didn’t ask her to do it. She made her own version by herself as a part of preparing to do the song live at the Oscars. As always, keep up the good work!

To me these two versions captures the, possibly stereotypical, differences between Norwegians and Americans. The Idina Menzel version is the ebullient, american way of dealing with life, shouting your feelings from the rooftops, being all extroverted about it. A norwegian wouldn't do that. The struggle is the same, but it would be kept inside, maybe going hiking alone to think and mull things over, and if there's any singing to be done, it's done quietly, because you wouldn't want to be rude and bother someone else with your problems.

Ive seen you have reacted to other artists than Aurora, so can you react to Sigrid (Auroras friend)? Sigrid is more of a pop artist while Aurora is more experimental (has her own style), but Sigrid is also really good. A whole concert would be cool (you seem to like that), and why not this one she had some weeks ago at a hill overlooking Oslo. Its usually a festival called «Above Oslo» with many artists playing and a lot of people in the crowd but because of the circumstances, there are way fewer people there, but Sigrd sounds amazing. Here it is kzbin.info/www/bejne/hISwanqgfL1_h9U (about 45 min) Sigrid was actually named «The sound of 2018» by BBC Music. Funny thing is that Billy Eilish were nominated the same year, but didnt even come top 5. Previous winners among others Sam Smith, Adele, Mika, Keane). «The sound of» is an annual BBC poll of music critics and industry figures to find the most promising new music talent.

she cant say «where r u going». she IS the siren, so she is speaking to herself. another thing - idina sings this as the lyrics are really what she is thinking, she accents every word. But: 1. It is one of the biggest crowds she ever played for and it is interesting to see her go into full 'warrior queen' mode, so different from the other more intimate sessions. 2. The Brazilian fans are just the best. And there are so many warriors & weirdors over there. 3. Its one of (maybe even the first) rendition of the Seed, long before it got released. Thank you, interesting format to see song contrasts :) . Sorry to offend fans, I don’t really like the Disney Version outside of the film but I rarely like any Disney female songs because the voices, no matter the country supposedly represented all seem to sound the same, mainstream American hit. Auroras version and instrumentation is magical with the connection to nature and the snow and ice and she has turned the song into one I can find enjoyable and listen to. I love the notes sliding in the background. I’d love to see you compare and contrast aurora seed official video and seed acoustic at VEVO as you haven’t done this two yet.

Brendon Urie's version is still my favourite, I get goosebumps every time, but Aurora's take is interesting too. Very soulful, very haunting, very Scandi.

Every english speaking child knows the voice of Idina Menzel. But ALL children knows the voice of Aurora. Since her voice is in every language version of this film... Comparing them is a bit unfair to Menzel, since she had to sing the song in a specific tempo, mood and strength aka Disney. But Aurora could just make it her own, so of cause it would be better.

Love both version, both have very different qualities that shine. How about another AURORA double reaction between David Bowie's original "Life On Mars" kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4uulJ9qYtmWq9E and AURORA's cover version. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXuTamiJZbKgpKM

Watching how you liked Idinas version i was thinking, he wont like Auroras version. And i think i was right. Every time you use the word "interesting" thats your polite way of saying you dont love it :) I personal, hate the original version i dont like Idinas voice at all. But i do love Auroras version.

I like Auroras version best. I don't like Idinas voice, she sounds like every other musical artists voice. Technical good but boring. I like the double-bill videos, I have already suggested a triple-bill of 'The Seed' in an earlier comment. I also miss 'Aurora - Full performance (Live at The Current)' (3 songs acoustic), and the original MV of 'Animal'. Live at the current is in my opinion the best live acoustic performance from Aurora and the band.

I feel like I’m the only one who doesn’t really like AURORA’s version all that much. It’s just really boring to me. Although, I am a huge musical fan so that could be it.

I think that the original version is the one that works as a musical number in a disney film. If Elsa sang like Aurora in the movie, the tone of the movie and the character would be entirely different. It would have to be an entirely different movie.

I don’t like Aurora’s version at all. She has a lovely voice but she basically ignored the entire melody it’s hardly comparable to Idina or Brendon’s version. She kept the chorus sort of but if I want a cover I don’t want it to be so different that the recognisable melody isn’t recognisable. She’s so overhyped and I’m tired of it. She has a beautiful voice but it’s not how everyone is so enamoured by it. She’s removed all emotional from the lyrics imo. There’s no determination, or drive for the song. I skipped past it I was so bored.
